  1. Hopefully it's the elbow. He should have just [expletive] gotten TJS a year ago
  2. Garza threw 25 pitches from 45 feet today and is scheduled to do the same tomorrow. Stewart and Vitters ran the bases today and Stewart is expected to be back in the lineup Thursday.
  3. OMG, love it. If he could get up to Pedro Alvarez level defense at 3B he could still be a valuable player with the bat.
  4. I agree. But if the Astros go with one of the HS bats and Manea and Appel are there at 2, I want Appel.
  5. Ben Zobrist? http://www.beneathmyheart.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/cousin-eddie-Bingo.jpg
  6. Oh, that's it.. I wasn't aware of any of that
  7. I'm pretty sure the deal is contingent on him signing an extension. What about him can be a real problem? Unless you mean injury problems (migraines/ankle), I haven't heard of any character issues with him. I know he requested a trade, but that doesn't always mean the player has makeup/character issues.
  8. Greinke is going back to LA to get his elbow checked out, they say it's only precautionary be we've all heard that before. That would be a hell of a way to start that contract if he requires any surgery/time out.
  9. Cabrera continues to disappoint me. I keep hoping that flash in 2012 at AAA was real. Aren't they going to try and make him a starter again? Makes sense he's going back to AAA then.
  10. Harvin to the Seahawks
  11. Isn't Villanueva likely to be at Tennessee this year? Why would they end up at the same level? I misread BBR. I thought Villanueva has only played 25 games at A+ but that was just with the Cubs, he played a full season last year combined between TEX/CHI at A+. I was assuming Candelario will be starting at Daytona and Villanueva would be too thinking he only saw minimal time at A+. He should start at AA
  12. Castro is expected to be back Wednesday in the starting lineup, fwiw.
  13. Will Villanueva be seen anytime at 2B this year, especially if him and Candelario are at the same level?
  14. With Garza starting on the DL there is no way he doesn't. The rotation will be Samardzija Jackson Feldman Wood Villanueva
  15. If Tiger doesn't win at least one major this year I'd be shocked. He's already playing great golf. Also, with his win today Americans have won every PGA event this year
  16. So now Rose is saying his hamstrings are the reason he isn't coming back yet.... http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/id/9037686/derrick-rose-says-hamstring-issues-delaying-return-chicago-bulls Also the Bulls looked pretty bad today. They looked gassed and the Lakers beat them to a lot of rebounds and caught them sleeping on defense a lot. The big minutes on Deng/Noah/Boozer look to be catching up with the lack of depth recently.
  17. I know you want to go BPA over needs in the baseball draft, but with the strength of the catching in this draft and our clear lack of depth/quality of it in the system I'd be a bit disappointed if we don't draft a catcher in the first 3-4 rounds.
  18. I haven't ever seen Tallion pitch before today, he looks really good. Not going to be fun having him in the division for the next decade.
  19. You think maybe next year he will now have a significant drop off? I'm just saying it's amusing no one ever discusses PEDs in basketball. If the byproduct is guys having their best seasons in their mid-late 30's and giving us athletes like Lebron I'm fine with it
  20. I think I've officially been swayed from Manaea to Appel. I want Appel
  21. Lucroy had a .881 OPS last year and a 3.9 WAR while missing about 50 games due to a broken hand. He's one of the better catchers in baseball.
  22. It might be time to bring Javier Baez into negotiations and let him do whatever the [expletive] he wants to Tunney.
  23. Without a doubt. Barring injury, Appel should make his big league debut in 2014, probably before September. He'll have one extra year of college prep compare to most college draft picks. And if his last two starts are an indication, his aggressiveness and game plan/pitch sequencing have advanced enough to allow him to breeze through the minors. Is there any chance Houston passes on Appel? Sure. I think opinion is still fairly split between Appel and Manaea for 1.1. At this time, it would be a surprise if the Astros pass on both of them. Agreed. I could see them taking one of the HS OF over Appel and Manaea pretty easily.
  24. Law had a chat yesterday. Said he has Appel as his #1 and Manaea as his #2 (most likely). Was asked if any of the pitchers have "true #1" projection and said Appel does, Manaea might and Stanek is slightly below that line with Appel being the safest. He also said he thinks Appel is fairly close to major league ready.
