  1. Yeah, that and it appear Bargnani and Melo switched on that screen. Melo was rolling with whoever that big white dude was after he set the screen. If JR tries to collapse there on the dribbler his guy is left wide open for a kick out 3. That's all on Bargnani there.
  2. I think it's for when they start allowing advertising on jerseys (which I think starts within the next 2 years), more area to fit ads on.
  3. Christmas Day uniforms, http://l3.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/twxg0WrWUWyJOLW_bDsAcg--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7cT04NTt3PTYzMA--/http://media.zenfs.com/en/blogs/sptusnbaexperts/Derrick-Rose-likes-big-graphic-logos.-Photo-via-Adidas-Basketball.jpg
  4. I'm not remembering anything along those lines, that would mean they were offering something like 5/45. You have a link? Nope, just going off of memory. Every time I've seen a number floated of the Cubs' side of an extension, I've thought "really, that's all?" Well if that would've been the offer last year it would have been pretty fair, no? He made just under $3m last year, probably will make around what 7-8 this year through arbitration? So his last year of arbitration and 2 years of FA for 3/35ish would seem to be fair. If that's still what they are still offering to buy out the last 2 years of arb and 3 FA years, I agree, that's low.

  6. Wieters might be available, according to Rosenthal http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/baltimore-orioles-should-trade-catcher-matt-wieters-closer-jim-johnson-111313
  7. Texans released Ed Reed
  8. So who are some of the, very early, top prospects for the 2015 draft?
  9. LOL, "or some other variation" http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/1964xqodhp4w1jpg/ku-xlarge.jpg
  10. LOL, god no. Any of Wood, DeRosa or Glanville are all solid choices imo. DeRosa was always a good interview when he was on the team, iirc. Letting Hughes do a Scully type thing where he's the only, or even the only guy most of the time with maybe having color guys stop in every few innings or games, would be fine by me too.
  11. Sorry if it has already been posted, but when is the deadline to send in bids/when do they expect Tanaka to pick his team to negotiate with?
  12. Maybe the general feeling around the league is that Castro is still a very good asset/will be a very good to elite player and Theo/Jed are gauging the interest just to see what they could get. Maybe they feel Castro is trending downward and no longer a very good asset/the chances of him becoming very good or elite aren't all that great and they would be willing to sell him off high while some teams still really value him. If I'm a GM anywhere other than the north side, then I'm looking to buy low. It's a no-brainer to check in and gauge interest after 2013 if you think you can acquire him at a huge discount. Most teams won't get very far in the 2014 off-season if he has a bounce back 3 or 4 WAR season in 2014. It has to be in the Cubs best interest to see if he can restore value especially since 2014 isn't a special year in the Cubs timeline. I don't want to imagine what Cubs fans will do if he is traded at depressed value for non-elite minor league talent and then Castro remembers he can be a stud, but for a different team. Theo and Jed aren't stupid and they aren't going to Castro at a huge discount and take back a poo-poo platter of minor leaguers. Castro isn't getting moved without getting significant pieces back. They know they are better off keeping him if all they can get are a few meh prospects (both because of the bounce back potential and he isn't owed anything outrageous monetarily). The only way it makes sense that they are actively shopping him is because they are finding a team(s) around the league are valuing him much more than they do and they feel the can get a significant return back. It makes no sense to sell off on Castro now for marginal talent, like you are saying, when he is still young and has potential to still be elite and the investment into him moving forward isn't inhibitive that it couldn't be eaten if he absolutely busts.

  14. Which of the top 10 prospects, if any, do they expect to be up this year and what do they think the eta's are? Since Vizcaino virtually hasn't pitched in 2 years what were the deciding factors in making him #10, still going off of past reports/performance/expectations, knowing TJS isn't a death sentence, or are you hearing/seeing good things in his rehab back? What other prospect(s) were in consideration for #10?
  15. I'll be very surprised if Javy has not used up his rookie eligibility by then. KB is 50/50 for me as well. What's the amount of games played/PA's a guy needs to reach to lose rookie eligibility? Isn't it like 140 PA's? So basically anyone who gets called up by mid-August and is playing almost every game is going to surpass that.
  16. Saw this on PSD and really didn't think of it, but wow.
  17. Pretty sure he was. But, you know, between being 25 years old, the whole vision problem thing not being resolved, and coming off a .201/.303/.381 slash line combined for AA/AAA tends to keep guys out of organizational top 10 lists. i'd still have him ahead of jeimer and arodys for sure. I see little reason to have him a head of Jeimer at this point, but I'm also very high on Jeimer. Vizcaino and Olt are roughly in the same range for me as both could be ML contributors soon if things go right but both have serious health issues (with Olt's being more serious, imo, since at least the injury Arody's has guys come back from and they really have no idea what's up with Olt's eyes). That being said I'd probably have Hendricks, Cabrera, Blackburn or Villanueva at 10 and all ahead of Vizcaino/Olt for me.

  19. I started doubting it and just about stopped reading when it said it's source was Stephen A. Smith and then I just closed the link and laughed when it said Smith's source was Reggie Rose. Just isn't happening. Rose would be leaving somewhere between $30-40 million on the table (depending on escalators in salary cap/salaries) if he decides to sign elsewhere when he does become a FA.
  20. Is Jeimer going to be a consensus top 10 guy by most publications? 8 is the highest I've ever seen him, even on our own rankings here. I have big expectations for him this year.
  21. Annnnnnnd the Giants are one game back in the NFC East (loss column)
  22. He makes bad throws every game, he's not the most accurate passer
  23. So instead of the Colts regressing and falling back to earth over the course of the season from last year, like many expected, they just decided to do it all in one half
