    Don't mind it. If we were going to sign one of the available FA SP that weren't going to be the marquee guys he was my preference.

    I think Law has been on record for not liking Villanueva, the reasons I don't remember. But we all know how Law is once he makes a declaration on a guy. Also the Black thing is interesting, he talks about how minor leaguers that are going to be relievers have little value and uses it on guys like CJ for not rating him as high. I wonder if he thinks Black can be a starter or if he thinks he's going to be that good of a relief pitcher? Or he just really like Black at some point in the past and isn't backing down now.

    I think he's indistiguishable from Rusin, so I'm hoping he gets traded. Can't say I disagree

    It's more plausible to believe Olt has a shot than Brett did.(says guy who believed in both) It's more plausible to believe a guy can come back from sight/brain problems that really aren't even diagnosed or have a known cure than it is for a guy to improve off of some mechanical adjustments?

    It's completely possible Villanueva gets a rotation spot if we sign Hammel when Rusin/Arrieta are the two other top contenders for the 4/5 spots

    Or, you know, the organization that had him last year and the closest look on his progress both physical health wise and pitching wise felt they didn't like what they saw and felt no need to bring him back.

    You like Hammel? I just don't see it with him. Rather have Maholm. I think I like him the most of the FA pitchers we likely would target if we were to add one through FA.

    FWIW, Law's stuff starts coming out today and finishes off at the end of the week. For those that have insider, if you could please post whatever Cubs stuff he ranks/says. It would be appreciated.

    Vogelbach hits the most HR of all Cubs minor leaguers Candelario takes the biggest step forward outside of the top 4 and starts turning those 2B's into HR's Alcantara is the starting MLB 2B sometime in July/August Blackburn puts up similar numbers to PJ last year, becomes a org top 10 prospect going into next year Maples looks like he may actually become a thing as a SP and pitches most, if not all, of the year healthy in a starting role with good results Olt isn't fixed Hendricks gets bombed in his chance to pitch in MLB and gets put in the AAAA category Villanueva starts more than 30 games at 3B in MLB

    The Brewers and White Sox had nobody, unless I missed it. I think everyone else got at least 1 I did miss the Brewers having none, but the White Sox thing is a type. They're listed twice and had 2, Erik Johnson and Matt Davidson. Ah, go it. The Brewers system is a dumpster fire. I think any of our top 12ish guys would be considered their #1 prospect.

    Yup, my top 5 right now (assuming Rodon and Hoffman are gone) is Beede, Kolek, Jackson, Gatewood, Turner

    Worst record in baseball. I don't think we'll have that, but 67-95 sounds right on for me. Yup, I'm thinking a 63-70 win range on this team.
