  1. Clippers would need to trade Deandre, Jared Dudley and Crawford I believe. Possibly their first round pick this year too, to clear the cap space.
  2. The best pitching prospect in our organization has a low 3/high 4 upside? Woof. Though I think many have higher opinions of Tseng here than that.
  3. Think he will do a decision 2.0?
  4. I know very little about soccer, let alone how to properly evaluate guys, but watching the first 2 games Bradley seems like he sucks.
  5. This is the 2nd time now Garcia has had shoulder issues, no?
  6. When could he be getting a promotion? I'd kinda like to see it soon, but then I realized it would be to Daytona and he'd be pitching every 9-12 days and it would probably [expletive] him up. I'd almost rather keep him in KC all year and then start him in Daytona next year. It's his first season in the US and he's probably with a host family. He might force the issue with his performance, but I think they'll want to keep him in KC. That makes sense and seems completely logical. Ideally start him in Daytona next year and hopefully he does well enough that he can get up AA by about this time next year to avoid the rainy season.

  8. It doesn't need to be, but to afford him it was one of the easiest ways to get him here without having to get rid of anyone.
  9. Ah, yes. Paired with Rose (who would only need to be 70-80%), Noah, and at least 1 of Butler/Gibson that's easily the best team in the East and likely the league. Simmons - even though his schtick can get old, he does have legit connections (or at least connections to people like Jalen Rose who have legit connections) - could send Boozer + 16 + 19 to Orlando for Afflalo and waivable contracts then Mirotic+MDJ+Snell somewhere to free up money for Melo Would that leave us with MLE, LLE and vet minimums to fill out the roster beyond Rose, Afflalo, Anthony, Taj, Noah and Butler? Would the MLE be enough to resign DJ? I really want to be sure we have depth at PG, one to limit Roses minutes and two in case Rose gets injured. With the rest of that lineup the Bulls can withstand a Rose injury if they have a halfway decent backup. I'm not a cap expert, but yes I believe they'd nave the full MLE and LLE then vet mins to fill out the roster. The MLE should be around $6 mil for them this year, I think. Which is far more than enough for DJ I'd imagine, he probably won't even require all of it or at least shouldn't. If he does might want to look into other guys to use the MLE on.

  11. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back, but he can't stay healthy so I wouldn't give up anything crazy for him. Probably nothing more than like Vogelbach+Hendricks.
  12. Some Padres pitcher was the first to wear the padded hat last night http://barstoolu.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/06/Screen-Shot-2014-06-22-at-10.33.38-AM.png http://barstoolu.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/06/Screen-Shot-2014-06-22-at-10.32.01-AM.png http://barstoolu.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/06/Screen-Shot-2014-06-22-at-10.32.17-AM.png

  14. out of random curiosity, for what position? Off the top, he's played 3 spots this year, right? Or do you bring him up and move him around to different spots to get him the AB's? It's been nice to see the discipline tick up. Personally, I'd give him a few more months before calling him up. Beyond the obvious reasons (buys time to see if some of the spare parts veterans can it going to trade them, gives us time to see if his improved discipline holds, gets him extra work in CF), I like the idea of keeping him in AAA a bit longer because it should give him some occasional chances at short, and I still wonder if there's a pie-in-the-sky chance a team might get a hard-on for Alcantara as a shortstop and gives us a great deal to get him (akin to the Did Gregorius trade). Unlikely, but as there's no rush, it's something to store in the back of the mind. That said, as well as he's played, they may just consider him a key part of the future as a top of the order bat. I still have my doubts about the approach holding up in the bigs as a top of the order bat, but if it works, it's great (particularly the CF experiment, as that keeps 2nd open for Bruno if he makes it up, or Baez). 2B mostly and some OF time
  15. That's a solid team, easily favorites in the East if it happens if not overall favorites. Allows for some good roster flexibility too as you could go small with Rose/Afflalo/Butler/Melo/Noah or big with Rose/Afflalo or Butler/Melo/Taj/Noah Add in 1-2 cheaper/veteran wing players like Vince, CJ Miles, Shawn Marion, Caron Butler, Marvin Williams, Thabo Sefolosha, Danny Granger and 1-2 more of the same for PF/C like Jordan Hill, Okafor, Earl, Clark, Humphries, Jermaine Oneal and you have an incredibly solid, versatile and deep 8-9 man rotation with the above mentioned starting lineups + Hinrich and whichever 1 of Butler/Afflalo/Taj is coming off the bench. Edit: was in response to David's post about only giving up Dunleavy/Boozer as players to get Afflalo + Melo with being able to keep Butler
  16. Gavin Floyd fractured his pitching elbow last night, so I'd imagine the Braves may have a bit of interest in acquiring one of our SP. Who would/should be some targets there? Sims and Cabrera look intriguing.
  17. Does anyone know why Law's "Behind The Dish" podcast got canceled for this year? I thought he was getting a good amount of downloads/listens to it last year, iirc, and he did a few over the winter that he implied he'd be back to doing one once a week when ST came around.
  18. Yeah if I'm the Sixers and Embiid is there at 3 I take him knowing I have the 10 pick to take someone "safer." There's just too much upside in Embiid to pass him up when you also have a pick 7 spots later that can still yield you a significant talent/need. As they showed last year they aren't afraid to take it really slow with guys (Nerlens), so take Embiid and give him the whole year off if need be. They probably are going to be a lottery team this year again anyways, both by just having so many young guys and purposely constructing a roster to accomplish that.
  19. Will this just be the NBA draft/offseason thread? If so Warriors/T-Wolves talking Klay Thompson and David Lee for Love. I think that's a great trade for Golden State.
  20. Samardzija isn't going to get more than $13-15 next year, so he essentially turned down 4/70ish
  21. Probably if/when we need to clear a spot on the 40-man.
  22. Damn, I was expecting big things out of Jeimer this year
  23. Nice I successfully pulled that off in a HS game once going into 3B. I know, cool story bro.
