  1. Is Soler eligible to play in the AZFL again this year? I know there are some restrictions on how many times guys can go, right? Guessing they will have him playing somewhere though, even if it's a winter league?
  2. They're the only team of the four expected to go over their slot that seemed interested in a trade. Wonder what the Cubs would want there - there's not much interesting in their farm system and I still have a tough time trying to value IFA space. I wonder if there's any way they can expand the trade to get the Brewers 2015 competitive balance pick. I could see them being interested in Scheirholtz, Bonifacio (if he gets healthy), or Valbuena (obviously have to get proper value). In fact I could see them being really interested in Bonifacio if/when he gets healthy. Segura has been awful at SS, I doubt Scooter Gennett is going to keep OPSing over .800 at 2B and Braun/Ramirez have had nagging injuries most of the year in the OF and at 3B so his versatility could help them quite a bit.
  3. "Double-Plus Hands"
  4. You're forgetting the 79 in the minors That's right, I looked at his page wrong. So yeah, he shouldn't be on any innings limit then with the first month missed he shouldn't get past 190-200IP overall with 18-20 starts left.
  5. Fangraphs only has Arrieta at 75IP last year
  6. Is Arrieta on any sort of innings limit this year? Straily could be up to take his spot for a few starts if he has a 180 IP limit or so. Going back to 2010 his IP totals aren't all that high, 100, 119, 114, 75, and 64 this year
  7. Something may be going on...

  10. If true, Warriors are [expletive] stupid. Barnes/Thompson could have netted them Afflalo, Love and a first round pick.
  11. Kobe, Melo and Love played a pickup game together today at UCLA.

  13. Yeah that's still a really good package, I think you make any trade contingent on Stanton signing an extension to avoid losing him.
  14. There's no guarantee that option B ever happens, Miami (or more likely the team that trades for him) likely extends him in the next few years and locks him up for most (if not all) of his prime years. I'd do 2 of Baez, Russell, Almora, Alcantara for him all day with an additional piece or two like Hendricks, Pierce, Vogelbach, etc.
  15. Yup and if they feel they need to promote The Schwarbs this year again I'd prefer he skip Daytona all together and go right to Tennessee, however irrational that may be.
  16. Great to have Soler back, hopefully he plays the rest of the year without issues.
  17. Our collection of offensive talent has to be near historical levels, it's not even a question anymore if we have the best system in MLB, it's who's #2 behind us. Is there a precedent to having 3 top 10, 4 top 20 guys in a system and then another 3-5 within the top 75-100 (Soler, Schwarbs, Tseng, Almora, Pierce, CJ)? Maybe the Brewers when they had Braun, Weeks, Fiedler, Hardy, Hart and Gallardo?
