  1. It almost seems like the balls are de-juiced seeing these flyballs in this park the last 2 nights and Sunday with the wind going out in Wrigley
  2. Mahle vs lefties last year: .290/.384/.547, .390 wOBA Mahle vs righties last year: .257/.302/.384, .294 wOBA
  3. I think it’s only every 2-3 days unless the positive rate is above a certain threshold league wide.....
  4. Holy horsefeathers does Eloy suck at defense. That’s two years in a row now he’s gotten hurt just running in to a wall.
  5. Megill or Adam should be up tomorrow with some combo of Kimbrel/Norwood going out (whether it’s fake injury or being released).
  6. I’m fine with a manager showing confidence in his closer but the dude walked or hit 5 of the 6 batters he faced and was clearly struggling to get the ball over the plate. It’s not like he was trying to paint the corners and was just missing. He had absolutely no command and to leave him out there and expecting anything but another walk is foolish. Heyward not in RF (unless he’s hurt or maybe has Covid) was inexcusable too. He should’ve been out there in the 6/7th.
  7. :flythew: Never in doubt Tepera-Wick-Jeffress should be the only 3 RPs trusted right now, maybe Ryan if there’s lefties.
  8. He needs 97-100+ to make it work Nah His command is just poor in general now. His command was always poor, but have 97-100 made that breaking ball play up. Imo. Command may be worse now but he was never a command guy, the stuff and velo just covered for him.
  9. Lost in all this is Heyward was inexplicably not subbed in for defense last inning and definitely makes the play Souza missed and it’s only 8-3 right now
  10. Willy not trying to frame that 2-2 pitch and instead caring about Nick’s meaningless run on 3B. Jesus Christ
  11. Norwood horsefeathering sucks. Also why isn’t Heyward in RF?
  12. Tepera looked decent there, the slider plays. Got soft contact and threw a nice back door sinker/2-seamer. I wonder if when Q is MLB ready but not stretched out they put him in the pen to build up. He could be competent there.
  13. I wouldn’t be shocked if we heard KB’s back is still bothering him. He looks way off when he’s deciding to swing, still has worked some good ABs but the swings and contact (or lack of) look awful and off balance.
  14. Thank god Castellanos has Almora like plate discipline
  15. He got absolutely pummeled tonight, but wow.
  16. He’s definitely looked quieter and less stabby/reachy back there early on.
  17. The players were never going to accept a bubble scenario by the sounds of it when that was talked about for a few days. Plus the two ST sites aren’t exactly able to play a ton of baseball in summer due to weather (extreme AZ heat and Florida rain). Not that they couldn’t have maybe figured out bubbles in 2-3 spots (like LA/SD for west coast, Chicago/Milwaukee for central). But sounded like the players never wanted a bubble. i meant mlb in general, not mlb as in the owners vs the players. it's going to look bad for baseball if nba/nhl show that a bubble would have worked. Right, a bubble seems like the clear smartest thing to do to mitigate virus spread. But it never seemed like it was a realistic thing for MLB to do for whatever reason(s).
  18. He’s been 89-91 and hit 92 once. If he can be 90-92 he can get by if he’s spotting it. Also threw a nice change up that was a borderline strike
  19. Shocked we are getting hits and runs off this dick baller
