    They probably have the wealthiest ownership group in all of sports Dang, even wealthier than some of the soccer teams? I have no interest/knowledge of soccer teams/ownership but they are at least one of the wealthiest ownership groups of an American sports franchise

    Top 5 prospect in the post-Bryant/Russell/Soler system? Probably - I have him behind Schwarber, Torres, and McKinney for sure among the bats. Edit: Duh, the draft this year...Probably behind both Happ and Dewees. Top 6-7 for sure, I don't think it's unreasonable to put him in front of Dewees. Zagunis probably is right in there too, for me.

    It is pretty ridiculous; "welp, they're not going to just steamroll the division and the playoffs...might as well not try to upgrade at all!" It's so dumb, they have played themselves to a spot where they have a legit spot to make the playoffs. I'd be disappointed if they at least didn't go a get a Lohse/De La Rosa type addition to the 5th spot.

    I could see them doing piggyback/platoon starts for the 5th spot for a while. Go some combo of Roach/Wood/Jackson for 2-4 innings each.

    Yeah, I think they may have given up on him as a starter and since he's been in the bullpen all year even if they switched gears now it would take a while to get him stretched out anyways.

    Can't be certain because until this year I obviously have never watched him hit on a nearly daily basis, but I've speculated he might be nursing some sort of minor hand/wrist injury that's affecting him for some time now. He is taking awkward swings and his bottom hand seems to come off the bat a lot, which is weird. But he's a long/big dude so it could just be a prolonged struggle and he might just look extra awkward when he's off. He's walking a lot less, too. I was really hoping the Cubs were getting a guy who kept on getting on base at a good clip. Yeah, same. Figured even when he wasn't hitting he'd still be taking walks. He's walking at nearly the lowest rate of his career at any stop (his rookie year at A ball for the Rockies 9.4% there vs 9.6% this year) he has seen significant PAs.
