    I'm still hoping Jeimer can be a thing, really haven't paid much attention to him this year but I was surprised to see he was only 21. As for Paniagua he's gotten his control, under control it appears but is/was 25 at A+ ball, guessing this is more of a sink or swim promotion for him.

    You do not give up top tier prospects for the right to pay a pitcher 25-30M a year. I'm not sure there are any top-tier prospects in that proposal. i would absolutely not move baez for a rental. he is top tier maybe technically not considered a "prospect' anymore but for all intents and purposes he is a 22yr old with mega huge upside. nope dont trade baez. I'd trade Baez in a heartbeat for Price if they were reasonably certain they could resign him (i.e. make sure they are in the ballpark for what he wants on his next deal).

    I know he's been really good at 2B but I don't think it's a given Russell is a definitive boost defensively at SS over Castro

    He isn't a SS. They'd be better off moving Russell to SS and Schwarber to 2B with this line of thinking.

    He had the whole play in front of him too, he could've gone halfway to 2B and turned around and gotten back once he saw that was cut off

    Looking at the standings..... Detroit is 10 games out of the central and 4 games back of the 2nd WC but have 3 teams in front of them. I wonder if they'd make Price available if they have a bad week-10 days here leading up to the deadline. I guess root for Detroit losses this week for the off chance they'd deal him.

    I thought the exact same thing when he assumed his position in the box that past PA maybe it's just the camera angle Yeah doesn't Cincinnati always have what appears to be a slightly off view from the CF camera? Or is that Pittsburgh?

    Ross really scares me with his slider dependence and BB rates. But he certainly is intriguing. No real interest in Shields unless they are picking up a big part of his contract or giving him away for nothing for taking on his contract.
