  1. Given the Brewers record and the Cubs history of packing Miller Park I'd imagine all 4 games will be majority Cubs fans.
  2. What teams are left that need a SP that we would presumably be bidding against in a trade for the remaining SP available? Cardinals and Yankees?
  3. Where am I spazzing out? All I want them to do is to improve their chances this season because they're a competitive team and it irks me when Cubs fans act like they shouldn't bother because the offense has struggled. The FO has assured us they'd make those type of moves when they were competitive, so it's hardly an unrealistic expectation. Quit deflecting, damnit and name 10 god damn players
  4. The value of those pieces slightly goes down because you lose a half year of them. Could be the difference between keeping a prospect you like and giving up one you're not so sure on. And also giving up a chance at a world series
  5. One of the main reasons in having a good farm system is to have assets for trades, especially impact moves. Nobody gets anything extra for hording their [expletive] prospects. Not saying you have to keep them all, next trade deadline when the Cubs are hopefully contending, we'll have the pieces to go out and improve the team and fill needs. THEY ARE CONTENDING, FOR THE LOVE OF [expletive]. They're 7-9 in a stretch against their easiest schedule of the season and the Giants look like they're going to roll through the rest of the season. Even if they make the playoffs, they're not getting past Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and LA. There's no such thing as easy stretches in baseball when most games are nearly 50/50
  6. What the what, wonder if it had to do with Wheeler's medicals?
  7. I like that trade a lot for both the Brewers and Mets
  8. So is he saying it's something that just needs a long rest period or something that will need surgery to get to 100%?
  9. Starlin wishes he could have Bryant's .687 OPS over the last 30 days. Edit: God I hate the new run scoring environment in baseball where I think "well he nearly has a .700 OPS so he's not in that bad of a slump I guess". Yeah, but a .700 OPS over a "slump" period isn't that bad even in a good offensive environment. Especially for a guy in his first year.
  10. I'll be at the game, hopefully the Brewers trade Gomez, Lind and Parra either before or during the series
  11. 2 really good fastballs for Bryant to hit to start the AB
  12. I wonder if that was a hit and run and Russell missed the sign
  13. I'd be perfectly fine with a McKinney/Zagunis/1 of PJ/CJ/Underwood for him knowing we should have money and his relationship with Maddon/Johnson.
  14. I really hope/think the offense is on the verge on something with Fowler the last 1-2 weeks, Rizzo hopefully now, Russell the last 1-2 weeks, Schwarber up and Bryant still not being that bad despite "struggling" a little
  15. Woof, seriously - big trades before it hits the mainstream that the farm rode a couple coattails. If Baez was still a prospect where would he rank ? I mean they still have Gallo at 8.... He should/would probably still be a top 25 guy Baez at AAA is blowing Gallo at AAA away fyi, and he plays a better position Yeah I was saying top 25 as a way bottom out ranking

  17. Bubba Starling hit for the cycle last night, looks like he might be figuring it out a bit. At 22, in AA he's slashing .282/.345/.455 with a 8% BB rate and 22% K rate and 6 HR.
  18. What davell is referencing: Would it be uncommon to pull a guy mid game for a promotion?
  19. Based on the Emeralds twitter feed the 5th inning was ~2 hours ago, fwiw.
