  1. Stop hitting our guys in the hands/wrist, damn it
  2. Cardinals up 4-3 going into the bottom of the 8th, probably the outcome we want
  3. Soler called out twice on strikes on two horse [expletive] calls
  4. Same, and for it to be the opposing catcher as well
  5. I'm not comfortable with this game. Should have 3-5 more runs
  6. Ryan, Charles, Jeffery
  7. Craig Counsell looks like a HS who took his dads suit to wear for the day
  8. Coghlan is pretty bad in LF, regardless what the numbers say he's one of those guys that doesn't really pass the eye test
  9. Makes sense, and with the DH having him in the lineup probably improves the defense by getting Coghlan off of 2B.
  10. Yeah. He's a good bet not to be a black hole at the very least, and that's valuable in itself, especially on a contending team. Yeah and I think it's a reasonable assumption that the FO isn't going to spend major money on a FA CF or give up major assets to acquire one. The alternatives to not bringing Fowler back (and assuming no major FA/trade happens) are kinda scary. With no real internal options that can be impactful we'd be left with some sort of revolving CF poo-poo platter of Szczur and some FA combination of Parra, Venable, Span, De Aza, Davis, you get the point If they believe that Almora's adjustments are for real, I think signing a guy like Venable and bringing back Denorfia is pretty likely for the start of the season. By mid-2016, Almora is either knocking on the door to the majors or he's shown this is a mirage and they're back to looking for a younger guy with multiple years of control. I'd be pretty upset if this is what they do, willingly throwing out a worse team when we are a competitor

  12. I know it's been hashed out before but not being open to Fowler coming back on a multi year deal is madness. There's no clear/guaranteed options in the minors for next year or really even 2 years (even if Almora has been fixed he could still be a good 1.5 years away at least, Happ the same and it's not even clear he's a CF, McKinney isn't a CF), Fowler is still youngish and with a 3-4 year deal we should still get good performance out of him for all of it, and the FA market on CF is really bad outside of Heyward on a massive deal (which sure that would be great). Also there's no way he's taking the QO, he's getting a multi year deal from someone. Bottom line is the team is clearly ready to compete now and re-signing Fowler, unless they make a big FA(Heyward)/trade move, gives them the best chance to compete the next 2 years at least (estimating 2 years is how long it will take if/when an internal candidate is ever ready/identified).
  13. Depending what they do FA wise in the offseason I wonder if they'd consider moving Castro to CF, yeah it's all going to come down to if his bat comes back to find a spot for him anywhere but it would be something I'd like to see if they really are serious about him sticking around.
  14. Don't they put like everyone on waivers just for shits and giggles?
  15. Yeah. He's had himself quite the summer. Basically got to tag along with Blackhawks for all their stanley cup celebrations and now chumming around with Rizzo and the Cubs.
  16. I hope this Jeimer power thing continues. Is he hitting for more power from a specific side of the plate or is it pretty even?
  17. Radio guys made it sound like Fowler should've gotten to that one
  18. Beat the [expletive] out of these fucks, I'll be at the game Saturday. First time going to Wrigley this year
  19. Pretty sure it goes Hammel-Lester-Hendricks-Arrieta for the Giants series
  20. Motte has not been the problem here. He hasn't been good lately, not just picking on this game
  21. Would CJ be that much worse than Motte? Yeah he's gonna be wild, but wouldn't you rather have wild at times but with awesome stuff rather than just straight fastballs? Especially if we are gonna have Motte pitching in not "that" high leverage of spots?
  22. Assuming they are going to be committed to Schwarber mostly at catcher next year I really want them to go after 1 of Upton/Heyward along with resigning Fowler
  23. With facing a LHP and it being Haren's first start I wonder if we'll see Ross start again, because veteran experience bs.
