  1. It's pretty ridiculous we still have a top ~10 system even after graduating so many guys.
  2. Lynn doesn't seem to have the best control going right now, take advantage please
  3. LaStella has a career. .232/.306/.295 career line vs RHP.
  4. Drop Hanley Ramirez add Carlos Gonzalez
  5. I am just rooting for a long extra innings game and maybe Peralta/Heyward/Carpenter aggravating something that they miss a game or 2 in the series.
  6. That almost cleared the scoreboard. lordy
  7. I missed the game today, was out golfing, he was/is throwing a [expletive] changeup now? Good god
  8. Might not see Goldschmidt at all this series, he's away on paternity leave
  9. [expletive] is that a punchable face with a side of "Can I sell you insurance?"
  10. The only way I'd even entertain extending Arrieta if he'd be willing to sign well below market for the FA years (like 12-15mm). Which I guess maybe he'd be open to, he hasn't made all that much money so far in his career. Maybe it's not out of the question he'd sign like a 4/45 deal to lock in significant monies. He's making 3.5mm this year so that probably puts him at what, 7-8 next year in arb? Maybe he'd be open to something like 7, 10, 12, 16.
  11. Marcus Stroman is starting in A ball tonight only 5 months after his ACL surgery
  12. Obviously the surface numbers are worse for Hammel, but what are the underlying causes? Is there any way to sort PitchFX stuff into in season splits to see if velo, pitch type, movement has shifted drastically?
  13. Myrtle Beach has drawn 16 walks tonight
  14. Who do you think likely candidates are? Almora would make sense, Jeimer as well?
  15. There are 32 games left.... If the Cubs go... 10-22, the Giants would have to go at least 16-15 AND the Dodgers at least 12-20 to eliminate the Cubs 16-16, the Giants would have to go at least 22-9 AND the Dodgers at least 18-14 to eliminate the Cubs 18-14, the Giants would have to go at least 24-7 AND the Dodgers at least 20-12 to eliminate the Cubs 20-12, the Giants would have to go at least 26-5 AND the Dodgers at least 22-10 to eliminate the Cubs Remember, the Giants and Dodgers are guaranteed to have at least 5 more combined losses, making it even tougher. Thanks for doing this, I was planning on going to do it later tonight when I had time. Slight correction though, Giants/Dodgers have 6 more guaranteed losses. 2 more games in the current series and a 4 game series the 2nd to last series of the year.
  16. Seems a little weird, but I guess it doesn't hurt to add a guy to the pen who is capable of going a few innings. Especially since Hammel, Hendricks and Haren haven't been able to consistently go deep lately. Also could be to have Bosio get a look at him to see if he's worth keeping around for next year. Also who really cares if we lose Beeler, Rosscup, Medina etc. for him to clear the spot?
  17. I believe I saw 2 40-man moves need to be made to make room for Cahil and Berry
  18. Every time I see Lorenzen is pitching for the Reds I hope it's the fat lefty QB from Kentucky and he magically made a career change
  19. Wednesday, October 7th
  20. Looking up Carlos Silva stats and seeing Travis Wood's ass, just a regular Sunday night when you are in the pennant race I guess
  21. christ i had repressed any memory of his existence entirely Didn't he do something ridiculous and win, like, 8 straight? Almost, 6 in a row and 8 of 9. Holy [expletive], he was kinda good for a while.... in his first 16 starts his ER went 1, 0, 1, 3, 5, 4, 2, 2, 3, 0, 1, 2, 3, 2, 2, 2 and he went 6 innings or more in all but 3 of those starts.
  22. There's absolutely no question that Arrieta is starting the WC game, all things being equal (i.e. we need him to start late down the stretch and he's on short rest for it), right?
