  1. I mean there's clear reasons to take it slow with Soler, he has a history with hamstring injuries and there isn't a overly clear role for him on the team right now.
  2. I looked at the weather last night and I thought there was literally no chance of rain today
  3. Can someone post my team please
  4. Cards and Pirates lose, stop worrying you ninnies
  5. Give Darvish the death blow that his career is asking for
  6. Best luck is to try and see them on the road, usually can't get in for home BP
  7. If I had to bring one college rule over to the NBA, it would be making the "bonus" 1-and-1, and then super bonus for 2 shots. Not sure how they'd make that work with the NBA being quarters vs. halves in college but I love 1-and-1's Just do it roughly the same the halves are similar length, 24 min in NBA vs 20 in NCAA. After 7 or 8 it's single bonus then after 10 or 11 it's double for the entire half.
  8. Shelby Miller demoted to AAA, lol, F them all
  9. I think you're missing the point here. This rule change is purely about fan entertainment. The strategy is legit, it's just boring as hell, and makes the game less exciting to watch. Maybe you're right, and if they learned to shoot FT's, it would change. But they're not learning to do that, and the NBA feels the need to do something to take away a boring to watch aspect of the game. I don't find it boring at all, but yes I know the fan "outrage" over it being boring is what led to making a change. I doubt this leads to any more fans actually watching games when this strategy would normally be employed. But hey, angry twitter fans got their way.
  10. I don't like changing the rules for something that only affects a small percentage of players/teams. Get better at FTs, it's not like these guys need to become JJ Reddick at the line. They literally just need to become like ~60% FT shooters for teams to stop doing it.
  11. So Arrieta is pretty much Rich Harden at this point. Which isn't bad, but it's not great Bob
  12. It's an interesting combination of guys in terms of the "stars" but there are some fun/unique lineups of guys to be thrown out there that likely won't include Rondo, Wade and Jimmy all playing at the same time since they are so needing to be dominate with the ball to be effective.
  13. You solved it. Not enough yelling. Why are you still posting if the issue is solved? Would yelling make things worse after going 4-11 in our last 15? If only we yelled, we may be 6-9.
  14. Carpenter was so strong with The Cardinal Way he sacrificed his oblique to get them within 4 games of us by the ASB
  15. This Butters game thread should remind us all how fickle life can be
  16. If Jeff Francouer and Billy Hamilton faced us every game they may have career OBPs over .320
  17. Uh, horsefeathers pitchers. So yes
  18. It still wouldn't surprise me, and I kind of expect it, to see him go on a .330-.350/.450/.400+ stretch in the 2nd half for a month+
  19. Maybe he's really a right handed hitter
  20. Carpenter with an oblique injury confirmed, last time he had one it took 4 weeks to get back. But they can linger and take longer, so he should really be careful and take his time.
  21. Oh, I was only saying that for fun and not for any practical reasons. I just wanted the chance to add another top 25 prospect to Epstein/Hoyer/McLeod's credit. Keith Law had him 18th in his midseason update so we can award WC that distinction he also had Torres top-15 and we can reasonably assume Happ will gain top 25 status in due time (BA midseason?), so hitter development is going pretty well i'd say Law is pretty high on Eloy too, iirc from his chats and some tweets, I could definitely seem Law having him a lot higher than other prospect ranking guys next year.
