    He only went to 27 Hmm, I could obviously see us doubling down on position players, a tiny SS seems a bit different than I'd think though. Maybe he's a DJ Wilson type of little guy, with pop? Yeah, seems kinda like a meh and weird pick for us. FWIW Law has Allen ranked 27th overall in his rankings so maybe he just hasn't heard much on what we are doing/who we are really looking at so he got lazy and went with his overall ranked guy there.

    What's the thoughts on Zagunis? He's still walking a horsefeathers load, the Ks are way up but he's nearly equaled his HRs from last year already. Kind of a mixed bag but the power uptick is nice.

    Jim Edmonds in CF then with Jeters bat, I'll take it Edmonds was actually really horsefeathering good defensively before he got old, narratives about intentionally making catches look spectacular aside. Oh I know, I feel like he probably falls into the category of being a little less athletic/quick as other guys, like you laid out with Almora. He didn't have great speed/range which forced him into having to get extra good jumps/reads and make a lot of running/diving plays.

    Yeah not really basing it on this start, but he hasn't looked all that great this year, nor has Lackey or whoever our 5th starter is. Lester and Hendricks have looked the best but neither of them are even pitching nearly as well as last year and neither are going deep into games. He's striking out 11+ guys/9 and walking 2.3 w a kind of ridiculous HR/FB rate Today he has given up a couple hard hit balls but also a ton of BABIP crap and the error I didn't realize his underlying numbers were that good, okay Jake doesn't suck then. Just some bad luck hopefully evening out soon.

    Normally being in Coors I wouldn't put much into a bad start from anyone, but Jake and the rest of the rotation (except Lester) might just all suck/be hurt.

    remember when he inexplicably went to 3rd in a meaningful situation against the Mets last year? He needs to not do that going to 3rd there was absolutely the right decision, he just made a horrible throw Yeah, he had the runner out by a ton. He could've rolled the ball over to seal boy and gotten him out, only a horribly mis-thrown ball doesn't get the out there.

    Hasn't he been doing that all season? I thought it was intentional. No clue, I've probably only watched one other game he's started in and followed on gameday/radio the rest of his games (now that I think of it). First time I've really noticed it in the few times I've seen him pitch. Hopefully it's intentional for something good (thinks he can get better movement, deception, control, etc) and not because he has to do it because of an injury/discomfort or something.

    Arrieta's arm slot looks way off, looks like he's throwing damn near 3/4.
