  1. I think they had a good offensive day today, just had some bad luck/didn't get the big hits. They had 8 hits and 7 walks, keep doing that and the runs will come.
  2. Don't know what or when it happened. I was loosely following with it on in he background, he made a routine play at SS in the bottom of the 3rd then didn't hit in the 4th. So idk if he tweaked something on that play or maybe he has a KB hangover and had to go throw up or horsefeathers.
  3. He's coming off a knee injury, whatever value he has is largely based on his athleticism and also the cap just shrunk more than people thought it would. Committing 1/5 of your cap to Zach horsefeathering Lavine is horsefeathering stupid. Aren't you a Lakers fan? You just gave one fifth of your cap for LUOL horsefeathering DENG. Free agency prices are high. Ask Mosgov lol. For a team in rebuild mode, you can give LaVine that type of money and not think twice. You don't do it next week, when you're able to, but you see how he performs this year and go from there. But, 4/70 or whatever is not even a bad deal, if he comes back and plays as he did last year. Its the market. And I'd much prefer giving it to a young guy with plenty of upside, to giving it to run of the mill, busted ass vets. What's horsefeathering stupid is paying old guys that type of money. A rebuilding team can take a shot on a young guy and it doesn't affect their long term outlook at all, even if it didn't work out. Seriously, go look at salaries. I know where salaries are going and paying middle class players max deals or near max (which I think what Lavine is/can be) can get you in trouble. Those Laker contracts were awful at the time and are even worse now with the cap not going up as much as projected, they also led to multiple FO/ownership people losing jobs. They just had to give up a recent #2 overall draft pick to shed one of those. Giving big money to washed up/not elite players in FA gets you in trouble in the NBA and think doing a Deng type deal for Lavine is a bad move, rebuilding or not. If the Bulls are looking to spend they should do what the Nets just did with the Lakers, take a bad contract with a young/cheap player and/or first round picks attached.
  4. I'd honestly rather trade Jeimer to bring Hammel back than do anything involving Eloy that isn't a Archer package.
  5. He's a horrifically, awful defender too by almost all accounts and they are going to have to decide to give him like 3-4 years at $12 mil+ a year after the season as well. Holy horsefeathers, do you look at NBA contracts? What the hells wrong with giving him THAT lol? He's coming off a knee injury, whatever value he has is largely based on his athleticism and also the cap just shrunk more than people thought it would. Committing 1/5 of your cap to Zach horsefeathering Lavine is horsefeathering stupid.
  6. Why is that? People are talking about giving up Eloy in a Sonny Gray package here. You don't think that's 1 for 1, do you? Since 2014, Gray has thrown 601 innings, to 568 for deGrom. Gray has been worth 8.5/8.7 WAR between FG and BR. DeGrom is at 13.6/13.2 over the same time. And deGrom has an extra year of control. Pitching costs. I do not agree with giving up Eloy for Gray or deGrom, if people want to talk about that or think that's fair, great. Either way that's awful value/risk taking in my opinion.
  7. It was my birthday today, the Cubs won so that was nice. It would be cool if they would continue this streak of not losing games.
  8. He's a horrifically, awful defender too by almost all accounts and they are going to have to decide to give him like 3-4 years at $12 mil+ a year after the season as well.
  9. That's a ridiculous package to give up for deGrom
  10. The Bucks GM, John Hammond, left and took the Orlando job
  11. I'd say definitely under 30 wins
  12. I mean, could you not of at least gotten Porzingis for Jimmy and 16?
  13. Don't forget Thomas Bryant. Pretty sure he's going to Lakers. Might not make the team as a 2nd rounder, but if he does, he's going to be noticed on the defensive side quickly. Yeah forgot about him, solid pick as well. He has a good skill set, I think he's G League bound though. They have Lopez, Zubac and Black at C right now then Randle and Nance for small ball C (assuming no Paul George trade). But I like the pick nonetheless
  14. Very happy with the Lakers draft tonight, I love Lonzo and Kuzma was a guy I liked as a late round pick along with Hart. Definitely guys that should be able to play right away.
  15. He has that whole blister/cut deal on his thumb going on, could be just to make sure that doesn't get worse or re-aggravated
  16. We gave up the 16. Good god, sorry Bulls fans
  17. Like this even less knowing that Lavine is a FA after the year
  18. Lavine is garbage, even not factoring in the injury. Pretty underwhelming package. There should be a good player there at 7 though, or be used with 16 to move up.

  20. I guess this was needed. Only amassing ~250 PAs then missing essentially all of last year (a important developmental and formative year) the struggles really probably should've been something we saw coming. I know he hit well in the World Series and maybe that jaded us/FO a bit that he was just a supernatural hitting monster and missing that much time, at a young/developing age, wouldn't affect him. Looking back on it he probably should've played winter ball somewhere (if health permitted) and even started the year in AAA instead of being thrown into the fire. I have full confidence he will come back and be a very good hitter, this is just a bump in the road. I am very excited to see Zagunis, however, I've been a huge fan of his for a while now. It's too bad this is the move that made it happen, but I really, really like Zagunis.
  21. Wheeler to the DL
  22. Agreed. But the total lack of small ball I think will keep us in mediocrity offensively. I'm feeling a lot better about the team as a whole but there are still several glaring weaknesses and batting average is certainly one of them. We are "only" .017 points lower on BA this year than last year, so about 6-7% off, we hit .256 last year with a .302 BABIP and are at .239 with a .278 BABIP this year. So it's not like we are woefully off of where we were last year.
