  1. I bet we win this game yet, probably in walk off fashion
  2. He hit a ball very hard 2 abs ago that's a hit 95+% most of the time
  3. His career wOBA in high leverage situations is 296 and his K% is pushing 30. He has 3 HR and 8 2B in 180+ PA. Nowhere near the type of hitter he is, and the team would benefit greatly if he started performing there more often. He's one of their leaders and should be relied on to drive in runs at a high level consistently. Especially when the offense is struggling as much as it has this year, they should be able to rely on their MVP to pick up the slack. I know those numbers aren't great, but would it be a safe assumption that most guys high leverage numbers are a little lower than their career avg/norms? In high leverage spots, aren't hitters more times than not going to be facing elite level relief pitching which will/should suppress output numbers offensively?
  4. horsefeathers losing by one hurts worse knowing that Lester could've easily only given up 1-2 runs today if not for that stupid BABIP inning
  5. I'm voting against Bryant for last, let the man get rest
  6. They've done such a bad job constructing a roster around Davis, pretty much as bad, or worse, as the Cavs the first time they had Lebron. I liked the Boogie trade if they would go the volume route and sign a bunch of shooters/defenders around them but this contract doesn't let them sign anyone meaningful.. So it's going to be Holiday, Davis, Boogie and a bunch of vet mins/scrap heap FA? Good luck.
  7. Uhhhh ya think
  8. The East is going to be so horsefeathering bad next year, congrats to Lebron on another Finals appearance.
  9. What's the rush to lock any of these guys up? This team is and should continue printing money, worrying about acquisitions now and how they might affect re-signing a guy in 4-5+ years should worry you for other reasons than we don't have any pitching.
  10. Never say die with the Brewers pitching but hopefully at the least the Brewers make the reds use a bunch of pitchers tonight
  11. He should be on a pretty similar plan/trajectory to whatever Hatch did for a little bit after signing last year then starting this year I'd think. Maybe not, prospects guys is that not the case?
  12. What is this in reference to? He's night lighting the world on fire there? Is it about Bryant's injury/Jeimer sucking to get offensive reinforcements?
  13. No sir. I want an extension. Leave the blown saves for Nats. I want to win too but I also would like to open the window of contention wider and bring in a guy with a live arm and 7 years of control ready to step into the rotation. We can then use other small chips to bolster the pen with a Strop/Duensing type of arm and move Carl into the closer spot and Monty back into the long role and trade for Gray (starting to accept it will cost Eloy) or Gausman or whoever they're most intent on. Then we have a real rotation moving forward and plenty of financial flexibility. I don't really want to have a 15-20m Closer but I definitely don't think the idea of extending him is a bad one. The window of contention is already blown wide open, play to win the game this year when we will get in the playoffs. Also using real (non-monetary) assets to go after TINSTAAPP is a fools errand.
  14. That team just sucked on offense, though. Second half 2015 Jake Arrieta ain't walking through that door. The bullpen on this years team is better, the offense should be better and even though we had god mode Jake second half we still had just kinda okay Hendricks, 2nd half Hammel, then some combination of Haren/Wood/Richard starting games for us along with steady, good Lester. So in the second half if Lester just stays his normal self, Arrieta pitches maybe a little better than now, Hendricks comes back to be above average and then we trade for someone the pitching staff isn't much worse. Plus like David said, we don't need to get to 95+ wins just to get a WC. It's only going to take 85ish to win the division.
  15. I hope it's vs us, but I don't care if it's not. I greatly look forward to Oliver Perez and his stupid wind up, blowing up for the Nats in the playoffs and costing them games.
  16. I mean if Pedro gets us out of this it's far from over with the Nats pen
