    Should be able to go 2-3 innings if needed. And honestly, Maples has to pitch at some point if he’s gonna be up. Wouldn’t be surprised if they have him scheduled to go tomorrow no matter what for 1-2 innings.

    Idk why Chafin didn’t start that inning, head warm and you L/R/L to start plus Narvaez is worse vs LHP. Also maybe give the RPs clean innings when possible. Ross is just terrible at the actual decision making and bullpen stuff.

    I know part of the deal getting him here was so he could get a chance to play vs LHP but I’d much rather have Marisnick playing over Pederson or even Heyward vs LHP than Happ. It’s what’s best to his and the teams long term outlook and he’s not that bad vs them for his career, 90 wRC+ basically.

    Darvish, Woodruff, Flaherty and Castillo all got knocked around pretty good today. Maybe pitchers as a whole are a little rusty/off.

    It’s one game but man. Just blow it up, this is the same horsefeathers over and over, maybe they’re good and can fake it to a high 80s win season and playoffs but give us something different to follow and cheer for even if it’s not the right choice and makes it a worse team for awhile.

    Glad Sogard is gonna get more innings today than Bote. Adam threw 20+ pitches that inning, so he’ll be out. Glad Ross went out his way to get Sogard in.

    Cubs pitchers getting owned by shitty and/or young players, the more things change the more they stay the same. The advanced scouting/game planning has been terrible for years now.

    According to this, he had symptoms and took himself out of a game but tested negative repeatedly over the next couple of days. Yeah him and Bryant I think both had cold/flu symptoms and sat out for a while but never tested positive. At least during the year. No idea about the offseason though.
