Big Trev looked pretty good. I think he’s going to be a Hammel/Feldman type. Some blow ups but in the end 3.9-4.5 ERA ball keeping us in most games. Nico looks good too and hopefully Vargas keeps hitting, so hopefully those two continue that to keep Sogard at the alt site or just cut.

Maybe a hedge if Cain sucks/is just old after a whole year off? Or maybe looking to move Yelich to 1B since there’s some indicators Hirua might suck and Yelich’s defense in the OF is slipping. Weird fit either way with Garcia/Cain/Yelich as the regular OF and Bradley not having any real platoon advantage.

Was wondering what you'd do with Almora now gone. Sadly, I'm still searching. He basically is infield Almora who walks a little more and Ks a little less and had two huge outlier seasons and plays worse defense. I hope we just never have to see him.

horsefeathers Eric Sogard, hopefully he just pulls a hammy or jams a wrist in ST and that’s enough to set him back we never see him at the MLB level.

Yeah, about as good as could be hoped for. I really wish this game had Statcast up. Little's been one of the guys posting data from like warehouse Rapsodo sessions during quarantine. I'd love to see how close to real those numbers are on an actual game mound. Some of the writers have been posting velo's for guys, guessing off the stadium gun. So hopefully someone posts it.

Davis got absolutely fucked in that strike 1 call for his AB. Changed everything. Could hear Ross yell out something like “you made him swing on that, blue” on strike 3 swing and miss.

2, 2 strike hits today for Nico is good to see. His double to LCF was hit well. Then nice little punch shot to RF for the other one.

I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say that’s his cleanest inning ever as a Cub. His misses weren’t even misses, it’s one ST inning so literally can’t take anything but his arm motion looked shorter. Almost like Adam.

For some reason today’s game isn’t available on TV/streaming, looks like only home teams offer broadcasts this year (guessing for COVID reasons). But looking at the schedule most of our games should be available through MLBTV moving forward and there’s some days we are on MLBN/ESPN.

Yeah I’d assume giving Tepera and Workman MLB deals is indicative Wick isn’t pitching until sometime in the summer at the earliest. Tepera had the third highest whiff rate of all RPs last year, it didn’t make sense to cut him to begin with. Glad he’s back. Kimbrel/Workman/Tepera/Chafin and then a few of the other guys (like Adam, Underwood, etc) until Wick is back healthy should be a good bullpen.

Wait...why would I add batting average to OPS? Why would you add OPS and SLG? IDK but it looks cool. On the pitching side idk why (Wins-Losses)+(Strikeouts-Walks) X ERA isn’t a more acceptable stat!

If it’s true they’re really deadening the ball a bit that should really benefit our entire staff and the pitcher projections could be extra off. A deader ball benefits our staff more than about any team in the league, imo. Throw in I’d expect the defense outperforms the projections above plus have faith in Hottovy, I think we’ll get a few over performers on the pitching side this year.

God damn it. Hopefully he’s okay. He was interviewed Sunday at the tournament and looked kinda fucked up like he was drinking or using pills again and sounded pretty down and depressed discussing playing again anytime soon. That doesn’t look good....
