  1. At this point of the competitive cycle on the position player front it’s just about adding complimentary pieces. Harper would be a nice complimentary piece That's the joke
  2. He’s older but put up video game numbers last year. I’m intrigued by him and will be interesting how fast they push him based on age. He slashed like .390/550/.700 with 15HR and 20 2B.

  4. Hope they are able to get him to resign because this basically risks the future of their good not great run Yeah, I'm not sure how acquiring one season of Kawhi makes them markedly better when they trade away one of their best pieces to get him. I get that the East is wide open now with LeBron gone, but... Kawhi is the best player in the East right now probably (certainly top 3, him Giannis and healthy Kyrie?). They got a lot better, Derozan is a nice player and all but he’s closer to like the 30th best NBA player than Kawhi level. Plus they still could always trade Kawhi by the deadline if things aren’t working out.
  5. Yeah this should really be day 1 stuff for an agent to assign as a task to someone in the office as soon as a guy signs. And also yes, not excusing what Hader in particular said at all. It’s vile. But there’s things almost all guys want gone that are much lesser than this [expletive] tonight. horsefeathers Hader though. Racist POS.
  6. The tweets surfaced during the game. Guessing when he was pitching more people than ever were searching his name and it was discovered???? And some MLB handlers were being proactive (or even his family) when they found out so his family wouldn’t get harassed or whatever at the game??
  7. What a horsefeathers
  8. What a night for Regression! Willy got his power Hader sucked Morton and Astros pitching (going back to Sunday) giving up Dongs Stripling sucked
  9. Regression doesn’t take the ASB off, VBs.
  10. Hahahahahahahahahahabahahahahahahahahahaha
  11. Time to get Jeffress and Hader in there, Tactician Roberts!
  12. Can't believe this guy ran a MLB team
  13. [tweet] [/tweet] Too bad, VBs
  14. Tommy Pham or Kolton Wong since they always seem to be saying stuff about the Cubs
  15. Shut up you [expletive] Hill Billy [tweet] [/tweet]
  16. I prefer fWAR, I think FG is easier to navigate than BR, ha. The answer is probably a blend of the two to find true value. The super easy way to explain why I like fWAR more is how fWAR values the underlying things guys do vs bWAR going off of more what guys actually did on surface numbers. Is that still true for hitting and defense stats? I'm pretty sure they are very similar, UZR vs DRS for defense, and both use wOBA as the base for their offensive WAR. I think B-R actually normalizes for league more than FG does now. With pitching you still have the RA vs FIP situation, but for hitters idk that FG is really more about valuing the underlying things guys do than B-R these days. You might be right on hitters, but pitchers are definitely different and I prefer the FG way of measuring that with FIP.
  17. I know it doesn’t really work that way most of the time, but I hope the Dodgers adding Manny ups the level of trade targets for us with the bullpen add(s) or even starter (DeGrom) since I believe Theo views the Dodgers as our main competition.
  18. fWAR. By bWAR, Machado has three seasons better than Seager’s rookie season. This year, however, Machado’s not on pace for a better season than Seager’s rookie season primarily due to how poorly his defense grades out at SS. Is there some consensus out there that fWAR is better than bWAR? I go to BR more quickly than I do FG, but largely only due to the fact that I find the site easier to navigate. 19. He hit 99 tonight as well. I think he's our best (at least most intriguing) pitching prospect at the moment. Gotta love the command and BB rates for a guy with his stuff. Wonder how aggressive they will be in pushing him?
  20. Surely this guy I've never heard of has similar trade value to Russell + Happ + + ? We should make sure we don’t want to trade Russell and Happ +++ for this Phillies pitcher if he’s that good.

  22. O/U 100 for them as teammates together next year
