  1. just frustrating to know their record should be better based on how they've generally performed, and it's because of games like this that it's not. after losing the division by 1 game last year, it feels really bad to watch the overall roster perform much better than milwaukee's for the first quarter of the season and have almost no separation to show for it. every time one of these aaa relievers loses a game, it's because the cubs decided they were good enough, even though last year they weren't. i just never thought we'd spend the 3 years after the world series struggling to stay ahead of the milwaukee brewers It’s frustrating but all bullpens lose games, Hader gave up a walk off Dong this weekend. We literally won a game this year because Taylor horsefeathering Davis hit a grand slam. This horsefeathers evens out. We are playing at 97 win pace and last I checked fangraphs they had us at 92-93 wins and nobody else in the division above 87. We are better than the Brewers, it’s only May and we have a 3-4 game lead in the loss column. Pedro is back soon and hopefully we add at least one solid reliever sooner than later on top of him (sounds like we’re looking in to it already) and another one around the deadline.
  2. The positives are Yu and Brach looked good. If Brach is back to his old self hitting 96-97 that’s a nice bullpen piece. We probably can get by with Strop/Cishek/Brach as the main 3 pieces for a while with Carl, Kintzler, Chatwood, Monty and Cedeno as complimentary pieces though they should and need add at least a Ken Giles, Will Smith or someone at some point.
  3. That’s not actually the rule, it’s a subjective call and players get called out for going as far as he did there all the time.

  5. Assuming health I don’t think it is. Also a hugely questionably knock against him. Ugh. What a terrible signing. Keep looking at the absolute downside and worse case with him if you want but the last two starts have been quite good and there’s been plenty of encouraging things going on in them to think he’s turned a corner.
  6. If we get the Darvish of tonight and his last start I don’t see what more you can want or complain about. That’s going to lead to good things.
  7. He’s up to about 75 PA near a .900 OPS since late April Yeah he’s been hitting well, doesn’t seem like he’s changed much as a hitter (other than some power) so I’d assume this is just a blip/hot streak. But I’ll take it.
  8. Good to see we have some synergy going up and down the organization from the majors to the minors with misdiagnosing injuries
  9. Joe bringing in Cishek when he did (to face their best) was the right move, I’m kinda fine with letting him stay in. The rest of the options suck, this is the spot Theo’s put him in.
  10. Agree, regardless of results it’s the right thing to do. Use our best vs their best. Figure out the 9th/closer when you get there.
  11. Yea....cause of all that bullpen depth we have. Shitty depth shouldn’t keep us from filtering out the horsefeathers we have. He should be like the 6/7th best RP on a contending team, if on a roster at all. We need 2-3 more arms in the pen, not including getting Pedro back.
  12. Kintzler horsefeathering sucks, just cut his ass
  13. Killer defense, Albert. You stupid horsefeathers, hit the cut off man.
