  1. Flush it out and go win a series tomorrow
  2. That was legit major league stuff. He needs to stick around and get some more chances.
  3. He was lights out in Iowa as a reliever once they transitioned him there.
  4. Nonsense is thinking guys who are worse than going back and to their right would have a shot at a ball our best player at doing it didn't get. It has a xBA of .700 for a reason. Almora is horsefeathering miserable at going back on balls, just like the play in San Francisco a few weeks ago. That ball was incredibly catchable and you’re just wrong.
  5. Hasn’t he had like a 2 innings or less and 10+ run start vs the Pirates once or twice before? I want to say right around the ASB in 16 or 17 he didn’t even last 2 innings and gave up a bunch.
  6. Happ catches it without question. Almora is the only OF we have that even has a shot at it. That’s just not true you idiot
  7. At least we’ll get a look at Underwood tonight, who’s been intriguing as a RP in Iowa and Pedro probably gets in so will be interesting to see where the FB velo is.
  8. Yes and if he doesn’t it still sucks but Heyward is good at other things so it’s a little forgivable. If Almora is gonna play he needs to catch everything he can remotely get close to because that’s all he’s potentially valuable at.
  9. He made like 2 appearances in 2017 and gave up like 10 runs then was all pissy when he was cut because it was the Cubs fault for not unlocking the genius, CY Young pitcher in him. He did the same thing the following year with the Dodgers when he sucked and they cut him too. He’s a pansy.
  10. I think the Cubs came out on the better overall end of the relationship, regardless of tonight.
  11. He was under it and whiffed like a little leaguer He was leaping for it about to crash into a brick wall. Except he didn’t crash in to the wall, he jumped for no reason other than to make the play look cooler or harder because he does that a lot or had no idea where he was on the field.
  12. Started the inning with a flyball that should’ve been caught, a K and soft contact to RF. Unless he's somehow throwing his voice and creepily ASMRing in Lester's ear, I'm pretty sure the bulk of this is on the pitcher. Almora horsefeathering up completely changed the completion of the inning, Jon still made some bad pitches and ultimately horsefeathers the bed. But he had a good first, Almora makes that catch the inning is completely different in all likelihood.
  13. Make Almora pitch the rest of the game
  14. Not really Started the inning with a flyball that should’ve been caught, a K and soft contact to RF.
  15. Last 8 starts he has a 3.5 era, 3.5 FIP, 3.8 xFIP. Gone at least 5.2 in all but one start every start, 6+ in 5 and given up 0-3 runs in 6 of them. He has these clunky blowups every now and then and he more than keeps them in most games. Almora fucked this whole inning up.
  16. Almora completely fucked this whole inning, and likely game, up.
  17. He literally K’d the 2nd batter of the inning getting a generous outside call.
  18. Oh look the guy who is supposed to be good at defense actually isn’t good and tries to make plays look cooler than they need to
  19. Holy horsefeathers we shifted and it worked!
  20. "Please give us goods and services for this broken button and half a cigarette I found in my pocket, please!" I say be bold, dammit. WITNESS MY MADNESS: Trade Rizzo for sexy prospects. Take sexy Rizz prospects, and any sexy prospects it takes that the Cubs already have, and try to try Lindor loose from the Indians after they crash and burn either in the playoffs or even making the playoffs yet again. Use hypnotism if necessary. Lindor plays SS. Baez plays 2B. Bryant/Bote/Happ play 3B/LF. Schwarber plays 1B. I don't think there are enough prospects (sexy or not) to get Lindor. How about a package headlining Schwarber for Ramirez after signing Castellanos. Ramirez could play 3B, Bryant in LF, Heyward in CF, Castellanos in RF or Ramirez at 2B, Bote at 3B, and Bryant/Heyward/Castellanos in the OF. Jose Ramirez is something like a top 5-7 WAR player in baseball since 2016 and has a stupid cheap contract. He’d cost more than Lindor does since Lindor is hitting the last two years of Arb and costs real money now. I do want Castellanos back and I’d be shocked if he costs more than like 4/60. I think Merrifield is my top, realistic, offseason trade target.
  21. Bruce is just calling him Ian to stop people from calling him that stupid “Salt” nickname Jesse keeps calling him.
  22. Drop Bryant Add Bregman Bryant was $50, had $50 to play with so believe this works.
  23. Adbert should start being used as a RP down in Iowa with all of Kimbrel, Strop, Kintzler and Morrow being in various degrees of limbo. I know that takes some proactive thinking this team seems to be allergic to, but it would make sense.
