  1. We'll probably find out in a couple of weeks when we play Dallas. That'll answer a lot of questions because if we lose that game, we'll be 0-4 against teams with a winning record and 1-4 against teams that are average or better. It's a problem when we're two months into the season and we don't really know the identity of our football team besides having a real miserable offensive line and a real good quarterback. The Dallas and San Francisco games will answer a lot of questions about the Packers. Rodgers is very good. I really would like to see both GB and Chicago improve to the point where we can have some nice QB battles without them having to fight their own O-lines. Packers finish no better than 8-8 IMO with the remaining schedule @TB, DAL, SF, @DET, BALT, @CHI, @PIT, SEA, @ARI There are only 2 for sure wins I see in their (@TB and @DET), and they will probably win 1-2 of; SF, @CHI, SEA, @ARI.
  2. Wha, wha, what? Somanonom beach. Lou has said Soriano won't be there, he's also said he likes Fukudome near the top, but maybe not leadoff. And he wants more team speed. Yeah, I think they are looking at speedy leadoff again. Not good hitter maybe, but stereotypical leadoff hitter. Some guys off the top of my head that I could see us going after (Trade/FA) are. Most Likely: Nyjer Morgan Fred Lewis Coco Crisp (Way down on my list) Orlando Hudson Chris Young 5 Way Out There Possibilities: Brian Roberts Ichiro Sizemore Crawford Granderson
  3. Is Cotts expected to be ready by the start of the season after having TJS? Or will it be sometime during the season? Not that I want to see him anywhere near the 25-man roster, but if he's healthy I would think he will be in contention for a bullpen spot.
  4. I hope that this doesn't balloon into something ridiculous. It really shouldn't, but who knows. Does that picture of her in the article look like the chick Phillips was having an affair with? Or is it just me?
  5. And he's not lefthanded or an athletic, speedy guy.
  6. I really hope the Cubs don't [expletive] up Castro like they did with Patterson and Pie. What I mean by that is taking a guy who has shown advanced ability in the minors but rushed him at a young age, had little patience with him at the MLB level, jerked him around between the bench/starting lineup the minors/majors, and never letting him settle in the minors and take some lumps there and work on things down there before moving him up and then changing his approach at the major league level.
  7. Sanchez looks awful today. Good thing they are playing the Bills.
  8. Well, we know the Packers didn't work on blocking during the bye week.
  9. LOL, what was that Detriot?
  10. And yet the Packers o-line can't do anything to contain them
  11. It would be really nice if Ahmad Bradshaw would stop taking TD's away from Brandon Jacob's.
  12. Mangini should never have a NFL head coaching job again
  13. Agreed, he should have defensive POY closed to locked up by now. If he continues to perform at this rate he will probably get some MVP votes. Has a defensive player ever won MVP?
  14. Yeah WTF is up with it? It still shows half of my games at 15:00 minutes.
  15. I would be happy with Cameron (shift Kosuke to RF), a flier on an injury pitcher Sheets or Bedard, and Iwamua, Hudson, or Lopez for 2B. We could probably make all those moves for under $20 mil. Hopefully we can find someone to take a decent chunk of Bradley's contract or at least get a good player back.
  16. The thing is with the Yankees, again like last year, they got a pretty good chunk of money coming off the books. Matsui, Damon, Pettitte and Nady are all FA and they probably won't be bringing any of them back, they clear about $40 mil. with those 4 coming off. So they could easily fit a Bay/Holliday contract in without payroll going up, they could also go after Lackey, Hudson, Bedard or Harden and be around where they are this year.
  17. What type of ceiling does Snyder have? 4th OF? Possible platoon guy? Looks like he has good plate discipline 7/2 bb/k.
  18. I agree, and with a team compromised of primarily of veterans, IMO it's better to have a hitting coach who emphasizes mechanics more than approach. These guys in their late 20's and 30's are pretty much set in their ways at the plate, but all guys can use minor tweaks and adjustments in their hand positioning, stance, timing, etc. throughout the year so a guy who is good with working with/at mechanics could be quite valuable to this team.
  19. Sign Shelley too if that's what it's going to take. [expletive], I'd agree to a platoon with Chris and Shelley in RF if it brought Dave in.
  20. What a piss poor AB by Manny. Trying to send one out of the state of California on pitches that aren't even close to the zone.
  21. Pierre refusing to take a walk there, that's shocking
  22. Did Hendry know that Jaramillo would be available? Is Joshua going to accept the move back to Iowa? 1. Potentially, you never know what information is known on the insides in MLB before it becomes public information. It's possible Hendry knew there was a strong possibility Jaramillo would be leaving Texas. 2. I think everything reported has indicated Joshua will be accepting a assignment somewhere in the organization.
  23. With Hudson being benched since the last month or so of the season by the Dodgers, you gotta wonder how much his value has diminished. Maybe we could get him for a 1yr. deal for about $5 mil. I wouldn't mind signing him and letting him take the majority of the starts at 2B and letting Baker be the "super-sub." Also with Scutaro being a likely Type-A he could be an interesting pick up if teams get scared off by having to give up a draft pick, move Scutaro to SS, Theriot to 2B (where he rightfully belongs) and once again you have Baker to be the "super-sub."
  24. I forgot his name and didn't see it until time was up, but when I saw Les Walrond a little bit of me died inside.
  25. What's the payroll at with committed contracts for next year?
