    Bulls get pick #2 overall.
  2. WindyCity

    They have the right to swap 1st round picks next year -- so they will get NY's pick next year just as long as the Bulls end up with a better record (and it would be shocking if they don't).

    I had a nightmare..... Bulls take Adam Morrison in the top 5 and then take JJ Redick at #16.... I'm left looking for a new sport to watch in winter.
  4. So still a first-ballot HOFer by that measure..... I highly doubt that will happen when he's first eligible for the Hall.
  5. I call B.S. on that explanation. I think AJ knows how to play the media and deflect any blame off of himself. BTW -- he also apparently clapped his hands several times as he was rounding the bases -- similar to how Z claps when he gets a hit.....
  6. This makes perfect sense -- corporations like stability and profits. The Cubs have plenty-o-profits, so no need to change the formula.....
  7. 2004 and its not even close. The potential for the talent on that team stilll makes me sad/mad. Yet they squandered their energy with off-field BS. They deserved that end to the season -- unfortunately, we the fans didn't, but we were taken on that ride down to ruin with them. I can't hate these bums this year -- its not their fault that a bunch of role players were assembled and called a team.
  8. Link Alfonzo can play 2B.... so you know what that means.....
  9. That league stinks -- but the Cubs remain on top of the pile. I'll have updated standings at the conclusion of today's games.
  10. I wouldn't trade Hill for Dunn. :? Silly Cubs.
  11. Yes -- some very questionable balls early on....
  12. The strike zone is apparently going to be very small today.... not good for Maddux.
  13. One good inning.... maybe converting Wood to a closer isn't such a crazy idea.... I know, I know, its early and this is just 1 start. :(
  14. From what I heard on the radio, it looks like it may be this.... CF - Pierre LF - Murton 2B - Walker C - Barrett RF - Jones 3B - Neifi 1B - Mabry SS - Cedeno P - Wood Yes -- Neifi batting 6th. :(
  15. 16. Was that the game where he got shot too? With a cannon. twice Well he only took the second cannon shot to stop it from hitting the section full of nuns and make a wish kids. Swell guy. He did -- for a few minutes -- but then the swelling went away. Not that it bothered him...
  17. Then he's a perfect fit for the Cubs! :lol:
  18. If Montanez continues to produce well in his first few weeks @ AAA, I'd like to quickly see him promoted again along with a Bynum DFA. Luis might make a nice platoon partner for JJ.... (if the Cubs can ever get over themselves and recognize the obvious need to platoon JJ)
  19. Go Sox! Ugh... I feel dirty just saying that.
  20. Yep -- he issued warnings to both teams after the first pitch -- which as you noted was thrown behind Barry. Nothing wrong with how Joe West handled that situation IMO....
  21. Since we're all a bit superstitious anyway, I'll go ahead and post updated standings... 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 5/16/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 16 22 .421 - Tampa Bay 16 23 .410 0.5 Washington 13 26 .333 3.5 Pittsburgh 12 27 .308 4.5 Florida 11 26 .297 4.5 Kansas City 10 26 .278 5.0 Petition for re-alignment!
  22. Beltran: .263/.405/.596 (1.001 OPS) Maggs: .298/.340/.567 (.907 OPS) Drew: .289/.385/.511 (.896 OPS) Jim Hendry is a genius. /sarcasm

  24. Baseball needs re-alignment... If there was a division consisting of the Cubs, D-Rays, Royals, Pirates, Nats, and Marlins, we'd all be making plans for the post-season. :lol: 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 5/15/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 15 22 .405 - Tampa Bay 15 23 .395 0.5 Washington 13 25 .342 2.5 Florida 11 25 .306 3.5 Pittsburgh 11 27 .289 4.5 Kansas City 10 25 .286 4.0 * * sorted by Win % We need to get this idea to Selig -- its our only hope!
  25. I highly doubt the Yanks want any part of that - Oakland seems like the best fit, considering proximity to his current home. Is Big Frank signed through next year? If not, they would love a player with Bonds' OBP-potential at DH....
