    Guys, if/when we win, Ill be unable to set up a new game thread, but Ill be able to put it up in the morning if you can last that long.

    I figure this would do fine as Game 1, you can change the title to reflect the time change and change in starters(if any). Ok, cool, then what about Game 2 assuming a doubleheader?

    A nice come-from-behind victory in game 1 of the series. Hopefully, they'll keep it up a win another one cause I really would like to start a game thread on my birthday (27th) :P...seriously. Go Cubs!....yah, I dont hate the Cubs anymore -- just overly frustrated at many occassions as usual. I think its very important that we sweep this series, as the Giants are really weak this year....especially the lineup. These are the types of games playoff teams win. So lets do it!

    IMO, Burnett will be easier to obtain because Florida just cant demand that much because they know they're going to lose him in FA anyway. On the other hand, so many teams are in the bidding that the price will surely be driven up. I dont want Schmidt, I think hes on the downside of things and from what I am hearing, it will take a lot of guys to get him since San Fran would rather have him around next year for Barry's return.

    Yah, I remember reading in a another thread that he was working on a cutter. Wasnt Hill only a decent pitcher in a sub-par conference if I remember correctly? I think its kinda of arrogant to say everyone knew he was going to be great when thats not really reality.

    Its not like Mitre is some old fart that Dusty would toss out there. Hes approx. the same age as Hill. Remember, Hill wasnt much of a prospect till recently. Im just saying that if you have the go up at the major league level already, might as well use him they way he is supposed to be used.

    Well, a fact is a fact. Hes still not proven at the major level. Whether he has had a chance isnt the point. If we are trying to win this year, we shouldnt be audiontioning Hill. Just pitch Mitre. Also, look at the number of homeruns he has given up at every single level hes pitched at. Do you really want that at wrigley field?

    Isnt calling someone a "flyball pitcher" just a nice way of saying that the guy cant pitch worth a lick and gives up a ton of homeruns?

    I love Rich Hill, but, really, hasnt Mitre earned the right to get all spot-starts. He has been down right dominating in some starts (..and not in some others) while Hill really hasnt proved at anything at this level. Mitre is not a relief pitcher at all. Just send him and Cedeno down to Iowa until next year when we have a new manager and adjusted roster.
