  1. unbelievable, cards and reds both set team records for most wins in april.
  2. Or possibly empirically demonstrated fact. It's easy to confuse the two.
  3. :farao:
  4. Well hey, it's a win :D
  5. "I've never seen a player with worse numbers have a bigger impact" Yeah, that's one ugly stat line
  6. Can't believe they missed all those. And now I don't want to watch the replay.
  7. ugh So much for that
  8. unbelievable. They're getting fouled for once and then missing
  9. Pretty sure a pitcher has had 5 strikeouts in 1 inning before. 4 isn't that uncommon
  10. when was the last time the bulls drew this many fouls?
  11. another horrible end to a half for chicago. Miami might be fighting with itself, but the bulls were the ones looking bad.
  12. That's just traditional baseball, put your .500 slg guys at the top of the order.
  13. Nifty, if they win this, there's a pretty good chance I'll be able to go to game 6. Never seen the Bulls lose a playoff game in person (unlike my baseball luck) Well that foul #3 on shaq looks pretty bad for miami. Did walton really miss the elbow there?
  14. All those numbers mean is that he is due for a hot streak to get back to career norms. The team has been winning despite his struggles, so hopefully they continue winning when he comes around. Same canbe said for Aramis Ramirez. Even if his numbers were much, much worse than what you could expect for him, there's no reason to think he'll get a hot streak to average it out. Averages do not work that way. Yes, they do. That is exactly why they are called averages. I wonder, do you just realize what you said? You just said that if you flipped a coin 10 times and it came up heads 10 times in a row, it would come up tails the next 10 times. A better way of putting it would be... You flip a coin 10 times and it comes up heads 10 times. You flip it another 90 times and you ought to end up nearer 50/50. But given that you've already got 10 heads, you're likely to wind up around 55/45
  15. Tomorrow Also, rusch 03=Estes 03
  16. Yellow Submarine was written as a children's song and was never meant to be taken seriously. You won't see it on any greatest songs ever list, so it's hard to imagine how that song could be used to show that the beatles were overhyped. It's a popular song, but nobody would argue that it's some brilliant song. it was #1 for 4 weeks in the UK. People were completely willing to eat up anything the Beatles put out
  17. fantastic thing to read about your team's first draft pick
  18. The beatles are just so painfully overhyped.. Yellow submarine(the song)'s success says a lot
  19. despite the fact that everyone would have reached out to catch the ball, a fan is seen holding his arms in to his body so blanco can make the catch. But I must be hallucinating, since no one would ever do that
  20.@miller running all over the place on pierre
  21. Actually, we might have to sacrifice this game for our 'pen. It's too early and with no off days on the horizon, he can't come out yet. I say keep him in til his arm falls off or his neck starts to hurt (I see the latter occuring first). Maybe some of the Brewers will hurt themselves while swinging out of their shoes. If you leave glendon in, it might start raining before the 5th.
  22. You don't remember that? he was competing with Estes for the title of "worst pitcher in baseball" that season
  23. I wish I could throw a straight 87 mph fastball like glendon. Oh wait, I can. I wish I was left handed.
