  1. That's only the second time we've seen forte do something like that all season
  2. More refs need to be punched for throwing flags at players
  3. Where's the flag???
  4. I'm confident that never before or since have two quarterbacks that dopey-loooking been traded for each other
  5. So maybe he'll wind up as the next Payton Manning
  6. The Bears have heard of the wildcat, right?
  7. PAss interference on a hail mary? Jebus, Browns
  8. And the steelers are going to lose to the Chiefs after what I suspect was a blown interception call
  9. Illegal forward pass anyway
  10. lol ravens edit: called a timeout then challenged a play they had no hope of overturning, losing their last two timeouts down 2 points with 2:30 left and the Colts having the ball
  11. Hey, they might get a field goal here. Their first points with 2:41 left in the game
  12. It makes me sad that I know what you mean without knowing what's going on in that game
  13. ouch, Ravens
  14. :?: edit: harris injury?
  15. Why won't Fox cut away from the Vikings game? It's 35-3
  16. So aside from a meaningless TD with 37 seconds left last week, the Cowboys have scored 0 points for 6.5 quarters
  17. Anyone else watching the Baltimore/Indy game have a really screwed up feed?
  18. Anyone else having PAC-10 games stuttering a lot? Especially this one.
  19. Fun times after the Algeria/Egypt game. Ambassador recalled, $600 million fine, etc
  20. Carolina was -3.5 I believe, so only if Carolina scores another TD. And why didn't Miami take the 15 yards on the conversion? Right, but if they had gone for the single point another TD wouldn't have covered without a 2 pointer.
  21. That 2 point conversion was a giant play for a 3.5 point spread
  22. A) whether or not you're right about prisons being paid for prisoners they don't imprison, that has nothing to do with any legislation. You're acting like a crazy person here. How does the government make money by spending money and not increasing taxes? Prisoners don't pay rent. Very, very few of them could possibly afford what it costs to house prisoners on a monthly basis. Not holding prisoners in prison just means they're spending less, not that they're making a profit. The private prison lobby, compared to the major lobbies, is pathetically weak and incapable of doing what you think it does. B) Why would the government pay private contractors to not hold prisoners?
  23. No, the government is spending billions of dollars most of it would rather be spending on other things. Arresting people doesn't make the state money, it costs it money. It makes prison guards money and private prisons get more money (although I doubt they get fully paid for fractional residency as you seem to be claiming)
  24. I just noticed this comment. Please explain to me how they make money imprisoning people. Do you know how much it costs to keep a person in jail? What they make money off of is fines and probation fees... not locking people up... that's where they lose money. Basically a large (LARGE) percentage of people incarcerated are in jail for petty drug charges. the way the system works is that if a person is sentenced to, lets say for instance, a year in jail for intent to distribute, they only serve 3 months (iirc) of their sentence, and are released. well, for us tax payers, we still pay for the entire year of the term, so the system gets, what, 300% more money on taxes than it actually costs to hold a prisoner. And with the prisons overpacked (the jail here in peoria county where the rapist just escaped was about 150 over capacity, with inmates sleeping on the floor), you can see how that adds up quickly. So, sure, the state is going to make a lot of money taxing decriminalized drugs, but between the jail money and all the money they already cease (including vehicles, houses, etc) from drug busts, you can see why they have no need to decriminalize any time soon. I don't think it's right the way the system is (i haven't touched weed in years, though i used to smoke alot back in the day, fwiw), and the state obviously isn't in the interest of rehabilitation, but they bank, and are able to make more money from taxes they need to charge by employing the swat teams, prison guards, wardens, general police, drug czars, and all those good people. This makes absolutely no sense unless you believe the prison industry is writing drug laws. Every other taxpayer funded thing fights them for those dollars.
  25. Something I've never learned the reason for is the fact that players before the mid 90s look, in archival footage, really tall. It has to be something to do with their pads, but I've never learned what
