  1. That was AWESOME! Who wanted to pinch hit Montero?
  2. WGN died for me for a bit on DirecTV but not on MLB.tv. I had them both running because storms were knocking out the satellite earlier.
  3. Who wants to bet Baxter gets a big hit tonight in the win?
  4. I think replays showed it was 100/0 that he was out. Edit: MLB agrees. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/13007126/mlb-apologizes-kansas-city-royals-costly-replay-error
  5. I love everything about baseball. Well, except that team in St. Louis.
  6. Fantastic. Really hard to find something to dislike about McCutchen other than playing for a division rival. Yeah, this is pretty awesome
  7. Watching Pirates game. There is a David Ross commercial for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for concussion recovery. Wasn't expecting that.
  8. Pretty awful decision on a replay in the Royals game tonight may very well cost the Royals a win. Royals announcers said they feel the replay decisions this season have been really bad compared to last year acknowledging that they feel Royals have benefited from it as much as they've been hurt.
  9. I'm a pretty high strung fan. I'm glad I have these game threads to make me feel like there are people who get more angry than I do.
  10. This game feels like the loss in SD. Woulda coulda shoulda.
  11. I think that's more of a necessity based on facing a lefty and Soler being out, no? Maybe. Don't see why Herrera in the OF wouldn't make as much sense (if not more) if there were no plans/thoughts whatsoever about Bryant to LF. Good point. I bet we can just file that under "Why do really good managers sometimes do things that don't seem to make sense?" Or, we can wait for the I-Cubs lineup.
  12. This whole lineup makes me sad. Hendricks needs another shutout and Bryant/Rizzo can piece together a run at some point.
  13. I think that's more of a necessity based on facing a lefty and Soler being out, no?
  14. Through about 20 words I assumed you were an EMT. Yeah, I went back and added the quotation marks for that reason.
  15. This last year I went to help on an "emergency" call at a KMart distributor the day after Thanksgiving. Long story short they were using some really old technology and it broke. To get them back up and running I had to fire up a laptop with Windows 95 on it and pull some files off of some floppies, find some old cables that probably haven't been used since I was in second grade and re download to their processor. The thing is, it took me about 2 minutes to backup a whole bunch of their machines to thumb drives that can interface with the processors via USB and Windows 7. Not really planning ahead much at KMart.
  16. Tonight was a good, solid win that felt fairly easy for the last third of the game. We should do that again.
  17. How did nobody get to that? Where were they playing?
  18. Good PA by Fowler and Coghlan that inning.
  19. Uhhh I wouldnt call it a stupid send. A decent slide & he beats it easily. He had a little bobble in the transition which made him rush the throw to a point where Perez had to come back to home. I have seen Gordon throw many guys out at home by a mile and without that bobble (which occurred after the decision had been made to send Fowler) he gets a lot more on that throw and Fowler is out by a mile. In other words, the Cubs got quite a break on that play and he was still out or at least close enough to out that he was called out and it couldn't be overturned. There are no outs. The chances of him being thrown out were pretty high. As much as Castro has been struggling him hitting with 0 outs is >>> than Ross hitting with 1 out. Glad they won, but there is no way a third base coach in MLB should have been testing Gordon in that situation.
