    Nothing against the Nationals. My reasons are solely rooted in the best interest of the Cubs securing a playoff spot. The Nationals have been unbelievably streaky this year and have a cakewalk for pretty much the rest of the season. The Giants on the other hand have a ridiculous schedule ahead of them. If you told me the Cubs will at least win 2/3 against the Giants I would be all over the Giants winning 3/4 against the Nationals.

Padres 12 Anybody else wanting the Giants to win 3 or 4 against the Nationals? The Giants schedule is just so much more difficult than the Nationals from here on out. It would be nice to bury the Nationals. Go Mets, Reds and Marlins.

    Hawk now calls a cheap hit a "Kansas City Special." Not really sure why. He seems to be alluding to the Royals being lucky.

    I mean, I would have liked to get down to 4 games or so back before the end of August considering the pace we have been playing at and the number of games we have against the two teams in September. If you're going to leave the WC2 contenders in the dust I'd rather the division become more feasible than WC1.

    Tonight I get to go to the Royals game with my wife's socially awkward co-workers. So this should be fun.

    2001 and 2004 make me sad. But then I remember #wearegood and I am happy! But then I remember the Cardinals and Pirates exist and I am sad. But then I remember that I've had more fun with this team than the last six teams combined and I am happy. And then I remember these guys are all still babies and I am ecstatic!

    Definitely not upset about the loss last night, but it would be nice if some of the contenders would go on a cold streak so our hot streak would do more damage. That said, the extra buffer of the Nationals falling behind us because of their cold streak is much appreciated.

    2003 Ha. I have that Straight Lines song randomly pop up on my MP3's now and then because of 07. Keeping the Dream Alive too for a while because of 03. I DL'd that song for the same reason - also I Love This Town from 08. These are all in my Cubs playlist.

    It's fun to watch, and it can be a big benefit, but I don't like our franchise players constantly in situations where they feel they need to slide head first. This includes extra bases and stolen bases. Maybe I'm too overprotective, but I'm firmly in this category.

    I actually had some pretty good people around me tonight, but some guy behind me (and I'm not sure if he was a Brewers fan or Cubs fan) kept yelling at Castro every time he came up to bat, "Sori-ano! Sori-ano!" in what seemed to be a derisive fashion. I have now idea why...
