  1. Ive always thought the runner should be allowed to run in fair ground to 1B as long as he isn't wider than the edge of the base. I know that's not the rule, but that's what I think it should be.
  2. If the Cubs win 101 games (current pace), the Cardinals can only lose 8 more games this year to force a tie.
  3. A few things: 1. That stadium is an absolute dump. I mean, I knew it would be, but it was worse than I imagined. We walked the park like we do every new stadium we go to. They had a Club area in Mt. Davis that looked abandoned. There were big TUBE televisions in there. For some reason 1 of the 9 was on showing the game. The other 8 were all off. My friend made the comment that it reminded him of The Shining. I don't know why they would leave that area visible to the public. 2. That game was a lot of fun. Before the game I told them I was most excited about Jorge's return and then he went yard first AB. Then I mentioned what a great defender Baez is. When he made that play my friend and his wife who are not baseball people at all and could have cared less about the game went nuts like the rest of the park.
  4. I mean, we were 6.5 up and there was a night where it looked like we would lose and they would win and myself and others made comments that we will start getting worried if it's down to 5.5.
  5. Going to this one. Super pumped. Spent the last week learning how to surf in Santa Cruz with my buddy and at Yolsemite for a few days. Also went to Giants/Nationals last Saturday. Awesome trip. Awesome places. Only downside was not watching any of this sweet ride for the Cubs, but I'll live with it.
  6. Familia just blew a save against the Cardinals. His first in 53 tries.
  7. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/what-history-tells-us-about-hosting-the-olympics/2014/10/10/d63ac21c-4e45-11e4-8c24-487e92bc997b_story.html This says Utah Olympics were not profitable. A handful have been.
  8. When I visited Park City, UT they said it was like the only profitable summer or Winter Olympics since 1980-something I think.
  9. Wow, glad I didn't get to watch last night and just now was able to turn it on tonight. I'm going to start freaking out if the lead is 5.5 after tonight.
  10. Would be cool if Robertson blows a save and then Chapman comes in and saves it for the Cubs.
  11. We wouldn't do this without an extension, right? RIGHT?!?!
  12. Is it possible Contreras missed a hit and run? Zobrist looked in. It didn't look like he thought it was a straight steal
  13. you should renew your vows asap She's definitely a keeper.
  14. This morning our nearly two-year-old son was not happy we put a collared shirt on him. He was pulling at the collar and freaking out. My wife said, "Alright, Chris."
  15. Ugh. Gyorko ties it with a HR with 2 outs in the 9th. NL West teams need to step it up against the Cardinals.
  16. If the Cardinals are losing first round picks I really hope that any time they sign a FA that requires forfeiting a first round pick that they already forfeited it does not just move to the 2nd round but tacks on another loss of a pick in the first year they would have had a 1st round pick. For example, if they lose their 1st round pick for the next 5 years and sign 3 eligible FA in those 5 years it becomes 8 years of not picking in the first round.
  17. It will suck if we find a way to lose this game, but have to feel great about the team's performance today especially Jake.
  18. Syndergaard has thrown 1 pitch in the strike zone this inning in the first 11 pitches. 1.
