I love the whole thing. The Davis HR does not even bother me. Actually, I lied. The replay of two runs scoring on the wild pitch and David Ross tripping over himself still makes me angry. But the Davis HR doesn’t bother me. I think it’s because that HR was the first time in 2016 I let myself believe “we’re never going to win the World Series.” That HR was the last time the Cubs ever made me feel the “oh, yep, here is where we screw it up because we’re the Cubs and we will never win”. And then, we didn’t screw it up, so I’ve never had that dreaded feeling since and don’t think I ever will again.

Mine is exactly the same. And if my wife saw this it’s because I was more impressed with her after the births than the wedding and I mean that in every possible good way.

Awesome for the ump to put Caritini behind 0-1 on a pitch well outside and then to call ball 4 there on 3-2 for the leadoff walk.

Seriously. Could be historically bad. They should go get Machado like now, which I’m kinda fine with them depleting their system even further to do it since I don’t see him signing there. Then when he signs somewhere else in the off-season we can read thousands of “trader” tweets.

I went back and watched the Braves broadcast for the bottom of the 5th and the top of the 6th. Man am I glad Len and JD do Cubs games.

The engineer who designed the Rangers stadium said it was specifically designed for the ability to add a retractable roof later. The initial costs were much higher to pre-engineer it for a roof. Edit: Having a hard time finding the article that stated this.

I give our front office the benefit of the doubt on just about everything, but if they traded Russell for Machado I’d be pretty upset. I don’t think there is any chance this happens.

Dang. I actually like him. I knew it wasn’t good and saw him very angrily slam his bat down after a K a couple of days ago and was wondering if it was a tough week for him off the field.

Checking out the Cubs offensive leader board. Javy leads in every major category but OBP (Bryant) and BB (Schwarber). Javy has 6 BB. 4 are IBB. His last IBB was April 11. His last non-intentional BB was April 7. His stats track very closely to my MLB Road to the Show player.

My wife’s entire family went to this game. They’re all cardinals fans and we of course are not. Since I am not supposed to travel too far away from my cancer doctor I couldn’t go. Silver lining: at least I have cancer so I didn’t have to see that game in person. I was sent a picture of my 3-year-old boy absolutely pissed after the game, so now he knows how I felt all those years I was growing up watching Cubs games in that dump of a city. Glad he doesn’t have to worry about “100 years blah blah blah as he walks out of those games though.” When I got home after watching Game 7 of the World Series he was asleep, but that didn’t keep me from going into his room and telling him he will never have to worry about hearing “1908,” etc. growing up. Man, I’m glad we won that title.

For some unknown reason, my otherwise awesome wife still buys these every now and then for herself. But I have to remind myself she was raised by Cardinals fans who have a diet that consists of like 5 things because they won’t try anything that’s not American.

Anything voted on by sportswriters is meaningless to me anyway. However, I do love watching BFIB heads explode when you even question if Molina is the GOAT.
