  1. What do you mean you don't agree? The lower seed would have more home games in a 3-game series. That's home field advantage.
  2. Err...the lower seeds don't have home field advantage.
  3. Was the low vote in April because of the Castro bunt against the Cardinals?
  4. I don't like the fifth team, but I can live with it. What I really don't like is the lower seeds hosting the first two games of the LDS this season because Bud couldn't wait a season to implement the fifth team. All it has done in the AL is push the tie-breaker back to Friday instead of being tonight and totally screwed up the homefield advantage aspect of the LDS. In the NL it has allowed the Cardinals into the postseason with the chance to actually have homefield advantage against the Nationals (best record in the league). Personally, I'd rather be the 3 seed than the 2 seed this season...
  5. Go A's/O's. Screw Dempster/Yankees.
  6. Packers are cursed.
  7. Hmmm. Probably should stay in the politics thread. I stay out of there since tolerance towards the right is nonexistent and would rather not see it in the football thread.
  8. This is acceptable?
  9. Whomever loses will feel screwed, a win from my point of view would feel cheap. This game sucks. I felt this way during a bunch of games this year.
  10. I actually thought the refs weren't any worse than the regular guys until the end of the Packers last drive and this entire drive.
  11. It would almost be worth it for the Brewers to catch the Cardinals and win a one-game playoff at Busch to get into the one-game playoff. I could just see Tony Plush dancing on the field and getting suspended for the playoffs for his antics. Also, pretty sure a fight would break out between the teams once the game is in hand.
  12. If Pittsburgh somehow removes their heads from their rears they got my vote. A's and O's a close second. Somehow Baltimore needs to win the East, Oakland the West and then the Yankees and Rangers would have to play each other in the inaugural WC game.
  13. It's halftime. 0 percent chance any Packer fan is sober. I'm sober.
  14. It's halftime. 0 percent chance any Packer fan is sober. I'm sober.
  15. show me a shot where the Bear defender was conclusively on the field then. Why? I wasn't talking about that play.
  16. Show me a shot where the ball is touching the ground. You can't.
  17. I like that concept I do, too. Very unique to split a 4-game series up like that. I just wish there would be more interleague games total. There should be 30, not 20. And spread them out more. I don't know if we're the only team who is done with IL play by the middle of July, but it's kind of disappointing to me. I'm a traditionalist in most cases (hate the DH, etc) but I think IL play is one of the best things that has happened to the game in my lifetime. That and the Wild Card. I disagree. I like interleague play as it is now. Part of its value is in its not being common. Even 30 games a year wouldn't make it "common." That's less than 20% of the schedule. Each NFL team plays 4 games (25%) a year against the other conference and nobody complains then. I just like IL play for the unusual matchups, and the chance to see players from the other league that I either haven't seen before or rarely get the chance to see. That's why I like it when the Packers play AFC teams during the year. I don't get the chance to see a lot of those guys any other time and it's nice to have the opportunity to watch. I've posted this before, but you can't tell me at all that MLB can't swing this schedule: *18 games per year against each of the the other 4 teams in your division (72 games) *6 games per year against each of the other non-division teams in your league (60 games) 30 interleague games (a 3-game home and home series against five AL teams. 30 games. 72+60+30= 162. Done, and simple as hell. I can't take credit for that idea, as I saw it posted here on NSBB long ago by I think Rocket, but it works and I'd be 100% in favor of it. Scheduling that is a lot more complicated than you would think, unless you're willing to play teams outside your division 2 games in one stadium and 4 games in the other.
  18. For those who are wanting to do the 3 games, 3 stadiums in 2 days. It looks like June 6 night game in Milwaukee, June 7 day game at Wrigley and June 7 night game at the Cell is your best bet. Brewers have a homestand from June 3-9, Cubs June 7-13 and Sox June 6-12. Another possibility is 8/14 Cubs/Sox games (but unlikely because one would have to be a day game and one a night game on a weekday) and 8/15 in Milwaukee. Who knows, you might be able to squeeze in a Bears and/or Packers preseason games just before or after these dates and just go all crazy.
  19. Yeah, it's like that just got shoehorned in there. By contrast the Royals have 6 off days in the middle of road trips (one of them being the day after Opening Day), so apparently this isn't a league-wide occurrence.
  20. My biggest gripe as a player would be the 2-game series in Anaheim in the middle of a homestand. Sure you get a travel day on each end, but that is ugly. It also seems there are a lot more off days during homestands and at the beginning and ends of them. There is only one off day in the middle of a road trip, and that's the day after Opening Day. I would think the players would appreciate this new development.
  21. they call that every time. every time. Simply not true. You are giving the refs way too much credit.
  22. Aikman originally said the block by Jones was clearly illegal and now he said it was clearly not when Pereira pointed out the other block in question. Packers got screwed out of the last series because of no calls. Aikman should go on and on about that too.
  23. Why doesn't Aikman just say, " I hate the Packers."?
