  1. Packers are making way too many mistakes today...
  2. more importantly, did tebow update his facebook status after the game and if so, how many people were liking it per second? What is your team doing today?
  3. He doesn't? No, he doesn't.
  4. Rumble!!!!!! So glad I had to miss the end of the Saints/Niners game to go to some suckup party at work...
  5. Why not merge the threads and keep this name for that thread?
  6. I'm excited about this. I think they will do a good job adding this to the park. Can't wait to see what it will actually look like. Is this something we'll see in 2012?
  7. Tebow's Facebook status is being liked at the rate of 14 people per second.
  8. I find it amusing that others have a problem with people liking a player because they think he's a good person. there are a lot of good people in the nfl. a lot of devout Christians, too. they just don't make a big deal about it or incorporate it into their touchdown celebration. i'm guessing there were some nice Christian guys on pittsburgh who are quite sad right now. True, but you said "overtly" Christian, not just Christian. Tebow is proud of his beliefs and those beliefs include glorifying God in all that he does. People love Tebow because he makes a big deal out of it. It's the most important part of his life, as it should be for all Christians. It's not just that he says he's a Christian, it's that he has the courage to accept the scrutiny that comes from being "overtly" Christian.

  10. Tebow is 24, has been a QB his entire life and has been "developing his throwing" as a professional for 2 years with absolutely no change in it from his college days. It's not going to happen. Yeah. That's not true. He has improved.
  11. Best thing about Game 1 of the playoffs? New Discount Doublecheck commercial.
  12. Sounds like Cates could be a good reliever if he is in the mid-90s and has a good change up. If that third pitch never develops I'm sure he'll be moved to the pen.
  13. I don't know if stupid is as accurate a description as completely irrelevant to the discussion. This is the Zambrano thread. The discussion is on Zambrano's career as a Cub ending. The comment was not meant to be anything but an interesting fact about the Cubs not benefitting a single postseason victory from him being on their roster. Although you could make the claim that they wouldn't have won any postseason games in 03 without Zambrano on the roster. It is not condemning Zambrano or even his individual starts (besides Game 1 of the NLCS). It is simply something that I found interesting that I thought others would as well. Nothing more. Nothing less. Stop reading into things, Also Carlos Zambrano has hit 3 triples in his career. HOW INTERESTING What is your problem?
  14. This is a really [expletive] stupid post. Not if you weren't supposed to derive anything from it other than, "Oh yeah. Guess they were." It's not like I made the claim, "This guy sucks in big games!" You need to lighten up. No, it was still really stupid. What's really weird is that you pretty much acknowledged that it was stupid and made it anyway. And then defended it. I don't know if stupid is as accurate a description as completely irrelevant to the discussion. This is the Zambrano thread. The discussion is on Zambrano's career as a Cub ending. 16. Not that it's a telling statistic or anything, but the Cubs were 0-5 in the postseason when Zambrano started including a horrendous outing in Game 1 of the NLCS.
  17. Flynn is a FA unless the Packers franchise tag him. Packers are going to get the chance to trade Flynn according to ESPN Fantasy Football. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/11443/matt-flynn
  18. There is no discount. They are the same price. The discount is $1 per game. $81 for the season.
  19. Go Broncos!
  20. I don't think tix on the secondary market have been terribly profitable for a while, save maybe some Sox or Cards games. I signed up thinking I wouldn't be up until I was about to retire and would have more time to go to games. There's no risk in being on the list so who cares. This is my biggest fear. Although its nice the Red Sox, White Sox, and Cardinals make up 15 of the games on the schedule this season. I want to grab the rights to these tickets but don't want to take a hit every season for the next few years. I would love to break even and just hold onto my spot as a season ticket holder and be guaranteed a seat when/if they ever play in a WS. Not to mention there is talk of the ASG coming back to Wrigley in the near future. I'm really surprised I got through this fast. I'm only 23. Really happy my wife is accepting a job offer next week or we probably wouldn't be able to do this.
  21. I reached the top of the waitlist! The packet was sent to my parents' house. I remember adding myself when I was much younger, and now I've finally reached the top. However, since I live in KC this year I cannot get them for myself. I want to buy them though so I can have the rights in the future. If there is anybody that would be interested in buying some or all of my tickets PM me. The Cubs will actually allow you to choose the seats on my behalf on January 28. The available sections are Upper Deck Box OF, Terrace Reserved IF, Terrace Reserved OF, Upper Deck Reserved IF, Upper Deck Reserved OF, and Bleachers.
  22. I've been going to Cubs games for 25 years, lived in Chicago the whole time except for part of school and a couple of years in Asia, and the only time I've seen the Cubs win was at Three Rivers. Never seen the Bears or Hawks win (in just a handful of games) and only seen the Bulls win in the Jordan era. I stopped going to games. How many Wrigley games have you been to?
  23. With only 2 weeks to play, only 10 teams have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Only one team has clinched a bye (GB), and nobody has clinched home-field (although the Packers could do so tomorrow night). 7 of the 12 spots are already spoken for. That means that 15 teams are playing for 5 spots. AFC The loser of Baltimore/Pittsburgh will claim a wild card spot, the other the division. That leaves the AFC West which can be won by any of the 4 teams (WOW!), and a wild card spot which can be won by Denver, Oakland, San Diego, Tennessee, Cincinnati, or the Jets. Basically, 7 teams are vying for 2 spots. NFC The very important 2/3 seed has yet to be determined (SF, NO, and ATL). Can't believe ATL still has a mathematical chance at a bye... The Giants, Dallas, and Philly can all win the NFC East. New Orleans, Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas, the Giants, Chicago, Seattle, and Arizona all could be wild cards, but New Orleans is already guaranteed a playoff spot. So, the Giants, Dallas, Philly, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, and Arizona are all gunning for 3 spots. It's also possible that SF still gets the 4 seed. (2 being NO or ATL and 3 being DAL).
  24. Counting preseason the Packers are 22-2 in their last 24. I did not attend 22 of those games. They were 22-0 in games I did not attend...
  25. Just moved to KC on Friday. Got tix for tomorrow on the 45-yard line. Go Pack Go!
