  1. Go Sox. Win and not only do the Cardinals lose the World Series, but Tim McCarver's career will be over. Two birds. One stone.
  2. Word for word.
  3. i'd never full on hate the cubs, but i could definitely see a scenario where i barely follow them for a few years, then pop back right in (in 2019) when they start to be good again oh wait that's happening now
  4. I hate them, but even a lot of people outside of the Midwest are getting really tired of seeing the Cardinals in late October.
  5. You have two options here. Either try and reserve the projector and hoard it yourself until the world series is over (if your local schools/municipality has a rental type program), or file a grievance that a "government employee" is taking something that we (tea party it up) pay for and are using it for their own personal enjoyment. Don't want to derail a thread into politics, but most conservatives I know think public facilities should be more available to the public. For example, in my hometown they are building a community center. Which is cool, except there are plenty of gyms, theaters, weight rooms, etc. in the public schools that are empty every day. They should find a way to manage those instead of building yet another gym/theater/weight room.
  6. They would just put up nets around that section and spend 4 years trying to get the ok from the city/ward/neighbors to rebuild it the way they want before caving and building it exactly how Tunney wants it. Somehow the insurance company would get out of paying for the rebuild and Ricketts would take the money from lost ticket revenue and for rebuilding that section of the stadium out of the baseball budget. Theo would by that point have 30 guys in the top 100 and the team would be finishing it's 7th or 8th consecutive losing season. Cardinals use revenue from their ballpark village to field a $200M payroll and win their third consecutive pennant over the Dodgers. St Louis Post Dispatch writes article explaining how the Cardinals generate their revenue the "right way." Their competitive balance pick from 2015 wins World Series MVP.
  7. Cliffs? I haven't heard of anything on this. Check your email, but Theo/Crane are giving a free presentation to season ticket holders to discuss three topics: Baseball Updates, Baseball Facilities Updates, Wrigley Field 100 Celebration.
  8. Anybody thinking of going to the Theo/Crane Kenney presentation in a couple of weeks?
  9. My two neighbors are from St. Louis and Boston. They said back in the summer that if the Cardinals and Red Sox made the World Series they were going to put a white sheet on the back of one of their houses and grab the projector from the school one of them works at and watch the World Series in their backyards. I am so glad I am going to be out of town for the next two weeks. Side note: I have never understood wanting to watch huge games with fans of the opposing team. My best friends in college are huge Bears fans. For some reason they decided to watch the Saints/Bears NFC Championship with our suitemate from New Orleans. It was a train wreck. We agreed for the Packers/Bears NFC Championship that we were not going to watch together. If I was a Boston fan watching that game last night I would have gone crazy when Victorino hit that grand slam, but I would have felt like a jerk if my die-hard Tigers fan uncle were sitting there with me.
  10. I remember in 2004 they were selling all of these flags at a flat-rate during the last homestand of the season in a makeshift gift shop.
  11. Even though this has absolutely no chance of happening, I would love to live in this reality for a while just to see what it was like. Agreed. It won't happen, but I too would love it. On the Mickey Mouse ears. I would not put it past the Dodgers to have fifty sets of Mickey Mouse ears in the clubhouse and for them to find their way onto the field or at least in the clubhouse celebration.
  12. If Dodgers come back I want to see Mickey Mouse ears celebrating all over the field at Busch Stadium. Then the Cardinals suck for 50 years and our grand kids watch documentaries of the Curse of Mickey Mouse.
  13. AJ Ellis is from my hometown about 2 hours south of StL. He was a Cubs fan growing up. He hit the GW HR today. I love him. http://www.semissourian.com/story/1650963.html
  14. For some reason last night did not bother me at all. I was having too much fun laughing at the fact that their team was putting themselves on the doorstep of the World Series and their fans were still taking every chance they could to whine about Puig.
  15. Facebook guy from HS. He's been whining about Puig all night. His status and his comments on his own status:
  16. 12/7 at 9:30. What was your first season as a season ticket holder? I only moved up a couple of hours from last year (Saturday at 11:30). This was actually my first season. Do you have a full season or a combo? Full season That must be the reason. I plan on going full (if they're available) once they stop sucking and I actually live in the Chicago area.
  17. 12/7 at 11:00. They've opened up the bowl seating to combo plans this year. Interesting. I had combo in the bowl last season.

  20. Got mine yesterday. 6 games were added to the combo plan so I saw a $400 bump in the overall price of 2 IF Reserved seats. The other day I was going through all my stuff that my Mom has kept for me since I was born. I came across some tickets to my third game at Wrigley on July 4, 1998. Aisle 229 Row 12 Seats 101-104. My current season tickets are Aisle 229 Row 12 Seats 111-112.
  21. But what happens when we lose to their All-'Murican Boys and have to hear that it's all because our team is full of lazy hotheads who don't play the right way and aren't team players. Be thankful that people like Kaplan will not influence the decisions of our front office and go get them next year.
  22. This makes me really hope that the core of our team is built around Latin players and a Latin manager. Cardinals/Cardinals fans would go nuts if they were playing brides maid to a flashy Cubs team that wasn't behaving to their liking.
  23. Only 3 MLB teams have not won a playoff game since then (all AL): Toronto Kansas City Seattle
  24. Home teams combined for 3 hits today. Could you imagine if the Sox had hit a walkoff HR? Both of them would have won with only 2 hits.
