If that's the case, I definitely side with Ricketts. But if they're THAT unreasonable, the decision to move forward should have happened long ago. Maybe it was, but the timing of the announcement was important for political support.
So, what are the current thoughts on: 1. Chances renovations start this offseason? 2. Chances renovations start next offseason? 3. Chances the rooftops win a law suit that causes a delay in construction or causes the deconstruction of certain parts of the plan?
In the bottom of the eighth the A's lead the Rays 3-2. The A's have one hit. A solo HR. Their 2nd inning: E6, BB, BB, K, E4 (2-run error), 6-3 DP. Edit: Game over. A's outhit 9-1. Win game 3-2.
http://homeofthebraves.com/renderings Braves new stadium renderings are up. Looks like they are incorporating a lot of the exterior stuff that the Cubs wanted to do and the Cardinals did this last offseason. I bet at least 5 teams build boutique hotels and shopping areas outside their stadiums between the time the Cubs announced they were going to do so and when the Cubs actually do. Of course, that's assuming that the Cubs ever do get their hotel and open market area.
I'm looking forward to the day when a team is trying to turn two and the calls at first and second are overturned. Either each team challenges a call at each base or one team challenges both bases.
Nelson was actually on my flight so I talked to him in KC. He was standing outside the gate. I thanked him for his awesome performance in the Super Bowl and he laughed and said thanks. I went to baggage claim because I didn't want to be that annoying guy anymore than I already was. After his wife came out of the bathroom they walked over and stood next to me and talked to me while we waited for our bags. Extremely nice people. It made my day. He was already one of my favorites.
Short of playing .667 until the deadline, or God forbid he gets hurt ala Garza, does anyone even think there's a chance? Seriously every time I've heard him speak in the last year, he's sounded like he's decided he's out. That puts is at 83 wins. At the deadline. I think there are less ridiculous scenarios where we keep him. Nevermind. I ain't good at this math stuff. It's actually 63-45 (assuming trade deadline = 2/3 of the season or 108 games).
