  1. I figured plenty of people could easily contribute to this thread. 1. People who think that past performances of a franchise doom/entitle future success of that same franchise. 2. People who have crazy off the wall ideas that make no sense. Example: Tuesday night Rizzo was up in the 8th in a 3-2 ballgame with 2 outs and nobody on. He got a weak hit. Soler ended up being walked and Coghlan made the last out. My dad texts me that he thinks the Reds let Rizzo get a hit on purpose so they could walk Soler (and put the tying RISP) so Chapman would not have to face Soler in the ninth. I text this lunacy to a friend thinking I'll get LOL. I get, "I could see that." 3. People who question things of which they have no clue. Went to a Mizzou/South Carolina baseball game. Still pretty early in the year so sample size is pretty small and I'm with a guy who can only name one player on either of the teams (his cousin). That's ok I can't name a single one. But the guy is all bent out of shape because people with crappy batting averages are hitting in the meat of the order and the guy leading the team in RBI is hitting 9th. His cousin is a reliever so it's not like he had a dog in the fight. 4. People who watch baseball but know literally nothing. The "South Dakota" Padres.
  2. A lot of outs on the bases this series and a lot bases bases allowed with the glove.
  3. When we start hitting HR can somebody photoshop an Arby's "We Have the Meats" ad and replace sandwiches with our stud hitters?
  4. Anybody ever frequent the Yahoo! Cubs and MLB chats? Those were interesting places during games in 1998/1999. But I was 10/11 at the time and I'm sure it was actually an awful place but I did not realize it.
  5. Team LOB Mon Cubs 9-4 Pirates Tue Cubs 9-5 Pirates Wed Cubs 10-6 Pirates Glad we are 2-1 as these numbers would kill me if we were down 1-2. Also, nobody GIDP against us. I'm going to assume that's because every time we have a chance for a double play we bring in Schlitter.
  6. Being that I also follow the Royals really close this has been unreal. Tonight was a microcosm.
  7. I don't think I'll ever feel like we're out of a game.
  8. Seriously, I don't think its a bias anymore. We are getting NO close calls period.
  9. Used to look at Cubs.com a little, but it was so bad I never was involved anywhere until here. My college roommate (Sox fan) introduced me to NSBB.
  10. Did we just call up Adrian Beltre and Barry Larkin in less than one week?
  11. Since Bryant started 0/4 and then was down 0-2 he has reached 9/13 times.
  12. 2-6 have reached base 14/19 tries. Crazy
  13. Cubs 2-6 has reached base 11/14 times and we have 1 run.
  14. I am so sick of not getting a single close call. And where was that conclusive?!?!
  15. high OBP means high LOBs High LOB is ok if paired with high R.
  16. Would be nice for this OBP to turn into R.
  17. I know a lot of us got real excited when McLeod decided not to pursue the GM position with San Diego because we took it to mean (and I think he even said) that he wanted to see the Cubs success to completion. Now I'm wondering if he knew the Padres wanted to go this route of trading the farm for immediate hopes of overtaking the Dodgers and Giants, and he did not want to be a part of that type of plan.
  18. Why keep putting the ball in the strike zone 0-2 and a free swinger at the plate?
