  1. this may be a really dumbass suggestion for many reasons, BUT if we internally, love Bote and think he's some safe bet to be 3+ WAR, Corey Koskie redux, what does Billy Eppler say if you offer him up Bryant, Happ/Almora, ++ for Trout? how much does he try to add on before you take pause? Think that already easily gets the deal done if Angels have any inclination to move him with KB's extra years of team control. But if you are making this deal because you see Bote as a solid to good starter. Thats not the deal you make. You trade Russell, Almora, Happ, and even add any 2 prospects the Angels want. Amaya, Azolay who cares. You go Bote to 2nd, Baez to SS and obviously Trout to CF so you dont need the CF platoon. That trade above has to get you extremely close to landing Trout. If they insist on Schwarber over Happ you move Happ to LF, Trout in CF.
  2. Ironically right after the quote about his robust health. LolMets
  3. The umps are terrible. Replay is definitely needed. Maybe adjust replay a bit but the Umps are so ridiculously wrong often & replay has proven that. Plus it does not significantly slow a game down.
  4. Unless they add a stud starter Im not terrified of the Yanks. They dong a lot Meh havent the Cubs scored more runs than the Yanks & they have a damn DH? Id rather face them than the Red Sox or Astros. Itll be a 50 50 series anyways. So lets beat whoever!
  5. Why would you ever not want to go to San Diego? In SD for the series right now.. currently 75 and sunny with a high of 77?
  6. I want no part of the Yankees Unless they add a stud starter Im not terrified of the Yanks.
  7. I hate when people do this I get your point but they have the pieces to improve at the deadline. Part of me hopes they sell out this year. They are playing pretty good baseball. Do they have a good farm left? Thought they sold their top guys for Yelich?
  8. Bullpen was lights out. Lets go sweep the Pads and end the half with a 4-2 roadtrip.
  9. Have the Giants broadcast on. Their announcers were talking about all the old school Cubs jerseys in the stands. Banks & Santo brought up. One announcer says my personal favorite Ron Santo. Then the other announcer goes "ryne sandberg is here.. in thoughts anx spirit." Lol
  10. Love Javy and what hes done this year but hate to see him pulling off with his head and whole body in that Atbat. He has such good baseball IQ i dont know why its so hard to get him to shorten up and focus on up the middle. Especially there when all you needed was a fly ball.
  11. Given what we know about when the wins have happened, the best 162 game span is going to be some time in 2015 through a similar spot in 2016. The 2015 Cubs took off in July and the 2016 Cubs slumped in late June/early July, so that narrows it down further. The 2016 slide started after 67 games, so if we back up 95 games into 2015 we get a 60-35 stretch to end 2015, and 47-20 to start 2016, or a 107 win pace. If you want to cherry pick a bit more, the 2016 Cubs were 39-15 to start the year, and the 2015 Cubs ended winning 45 of their last 63. That gives a consecutive span of 84-33 over 117 games, which is a 116 win pace per 162 games. Numbers look right but I figured a 104 win team would have a better rolling 162 than 107 wins. Only 3 better than they actually had. Any chance there was a stretch after the Cubs slide but back when they got hot again that rolled better than 107? Didnt we have another smoking stretch late july to aug of 2016. That would still roll back through the super hot 2015 end anx start of 2016 too?
  12. I was looking online but apparenlty not the right places. Can anyone find the best rolling 162 game stretch of this eras Cubs? Between the hot finish to 2015 and the hot start to 2016 im pretty sure they had an amazing rolling 162 at some point. Also i dont know if someone can figure it out but wasnt there a stretch at some point like 110 games rolling where the Cubs were on like a 125 win pace over 162? Also any info on who had the best rolling 162s of recent memory and alltime? Ive seen this done with individual homers but as a team this seems hard to find.
  13. lol, you need another group of friends. Nsbb had doubters on all those picks.
  14. Huh, this seems weird to me... Who is this "Gmoney08" guy? I suspect this might be a fake account/burner account designed to boost the reputations of Theo/Jed/Jason. Is this your account here Jed Hoyer? [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] I don't want you to get in trouble. You probably need to delete this account and do this now: Sorry Jed! My collars are fine. Find a new slant.
  15. LOL at anyone doubting Theo/Jed/Jason at this point. Even if he went 0 for this entire draft I would trust him. His drafts with the Cubs and the Red Sox before obviously have garnered a ton of trust. Ive seen the Bryant, Schwarber and Happ picks all criticized... Pretty sure Mookie Betts pick was heavily criticized as well.
  16. “In person, you don’t look like a guy I only have to throw with 60% effort to get out.” Speaking of in-person, Heyward is the most physically imposing human I've ever seen. He made guys like Rizzo, Bryant and Schwarbs look puny in comparison Eloy was right there with Soler as a Terminator specimen in person.
  17. Mostly likely to play on a team with his son and grandson Hahahah :-) Man, he could actually be a grandpa at what like 35 or 36? It's possible right? Only if his kids keep his prolific pace up..
  18. Its clear there needs to be an IFA draft. Would it be so terrible to include IFAs in the normal amateur draft? The 16 year old craziness obviously complicates things. You can draft a 16 year old from Latin America but not a Bryce Harper type here. There is also the decision making aspect of whether to draft the potential of a 16 year old or a 21 year old college pitcher.
  19. Theriot got into a twitter fight with Donaldson about Bellinger. Anybody have screenshots? Also poster Darvish as WS MVP in an Astros uniform, man this guy sucks.
  20. Apparently Theriot posted a picture of Darvish in an Astros uniform and said he was the WS MVP... Wow this guy truly is a prick.
  21. I looked at both guys Twitters. Any recap on this? Not seeing anything.
  22. And they could have had Bryant in that mix. As I shutter..
  23. Did he say something?
