    Russell may be the more consistent defender but i dont think it was defenitely decided soley by defensive merit. I think progression of their bats won him the SS job. Had Javy hit the ground running in 2014 and not dealt with injuries, sisters death and needing minor league ABs I could easily see Baez at SS now and Russell at 2b or 3b.

    Ross and Rizzo do it too after home runs hit a dong, then touch dongs with your bro... nothing wrong with that. It actually likely is something along these lines. A buddy of mine knows one of the guys on the Cubs coaching staff and he told the head rubbing was a symbol for them rubbing a girls head after a bj. Essentially it meant they were getting their dong sucked tonight because of the good game.

    Wouldn't be surprised to see him go over 20 this year even with a non-full season. He has always hit home runs in spurts and i could see him hitting a barrage at some point with the weather hot now, coupled with him getting consistent playing time.

    Is Javy anyone else's favorite player on the Cubs? Obviously he isnt the best player.. KB & Rizzo are friggin awesome and we have some super awesome pitching too. That being said Javy is definitely my favorite and if I was 8 years old right now I would want his Jersey more than anyones. His combination of being young, loud, cocky, crazy potential, living up to some of that potential now, and just amazing plays has made him solidly my favorite player on the Cubs. He kind of reminds me of the Cubs version of Vince Carter or White Chocolate Jason Williams in the NBA... not the best player but damn are they fun to watch.

    Its great he can be up with the MLB guys but only getting at bats 1 of 5 games would be kind of disappointing and not the best scenario for a developing bat. But anyways id bet he gets more like 2 starts per rotation and lots of pinch hitting opportunities.

    Is that pretty much a slurve Strasburg is throwing? Reminds me a ton of young Kerry. I kno Arrieta throws a ton of slider, cutter, curve variations & will whip a KWood like slurve every so often but seems Strasburg is throwing it a lot.

    Yep, this lineup just isn't scoring runs with him in there. Or, we could you know keep the guy with a 4 year track record (who actually seems to be hitting the ball hard lately) in his spot, with good protection & assume he's going to see good pitchers there to crush shortly.

    Almora playing over Javy and to a lesser extent Soler is crazy talk at this point & i understand hes had some nice improvement.

    Valid points. How have the elite RD teams of the playoffs era performed? SInce 2008, only one team who led the league in RD won a World Series. So we are due for the top dog to win it again. Also, I was more curious of how the elite RD teams have fared, maybe the top 10 or 15 RD teams since the LCS format started?

    Most of those teams were pre-playoffs. All you had to do was be the best in the league to make the world series. That's something the elite RD teams were very likely to do. Valid points. How have the elite RD teams of the playoffs era performed?

    So on StubHub its showing 7pm tickets for the game tomorrow still. If I buy those 7pm tickets I can get into the earlier game too? Edit: Nevermind just read that it is a Split Double Header. I saw some things about only needing 1 ticket tomorrow so I assumed it wasn't.
