1. RondonFan always says top 5 worst game of year but when it comes to annoyingness this one might make it for me. The team has largely played very well and down 6-3 in combination of guy screwing Arrieta in key spots while giving worse pitches to the Pirates bums against Zobrist, Contreras, and KB... as im typing this Zobrist again.. wtf this guy is terrible! Combine that with KB & Arrieta smoking bombs just foul and Soler's bomb somehow becoming a double while they get 2 oppo bloop bombs somehow in key spots. Its like deja vu annoyingness screwing us on both ends.
2. Jakes gotta be pissed with that tagged on to the ERA after this stupid ass ump and stupid travis wood.
3. Why? All i saw is a K em out and throw em out followed by a groundball back to the pitcher. Thats three outs right?
4. That's only his 13th allowed this year. Is that a lot? His HR/9 is the 3rd best in baseball at 0.61 and fangraphs shows him at 11 but now that would be 12, so actually it seems like he has been elite of elite at limiting homeruns. I feel like he has given up more the last 6 weeks though, maybe someone can update us on that? Also it does seem like its been a lot of 3 run shots..
5. Ugh.. ive liked the way Arrieta has looked lately but the Dongs are becoming concerning. Not a terrible pitch but Jake needs to get the ball down. Seems like most of them have all came on pitches he missed up on. Somehow it seems like it is always a 3 run bomb too.
6. Question if there was actually interference at home on that play & the Pirates won the replay. Would the Cubs be able to challenge again on the separate issue that Contreras actually had tagged him out originally?
7. Pitching coach might have hung him if he walked the pitcher in a 3 ball count on a breaking ball though. & I know jake is a good hitter..
8. How the hell did that get out and not Solers..
9. Is the wind howling in... I thought Zobrists was going to be gone too.
10. We are still wondering how it stayed in the stadium though..
11. What's that now? Rich Tom Rickettts I assume?
12. Posted this in the previous game thread but might give us something to chat about in the beginning of this game. Playoff preferences. These guys suck. The only concern with them is if Kershaw is back, healthy, and pitching well, which seems unlikely. Also, our offense plays well pretty much anywhere. We don't really rely on home runs, anyway. Take them away. The only two guys whose power really matters are Rizzo and Bryant, and they have the power to go deep anywhere. Hitting homers ranks as like Thing #22 that we do well. We are much better at other things, like getting on base, and relying on our pitchers inducing weak contact heading out to our historically great defense. I agree Kershaw in a short series is a bit scary... but hell obviously not unbeatable. The Dodgers have been bounced in the 1st round back to back years or three in a row or something right? I'd like to run into the Dodgers in the NLCS. Preferably where Kershaw had to win game 5 of the NLDS vs someone and is pitching game 3 or 4 against the Cubs of the NLCS. I like how the Cubs match up with the rest of the Dodgers team. We automatically will face the winner of the WC game if we our the number 1 seed correct? Just putting two and two together I'd assume thats true because the Cardinals had to face the 97 win Cubs last year despite leading the NL. Im sure they would've rather have drawn the Mets or Dodgers offenses last year instead of our DongSmiths.. So I hope the Dodgers win the NL West... then we face whoever wins the WC game out of SF, STL, Pitt, FL, & maybe the NYM. Assuming all teams are healthy I guess I'd like to face off the Cardinals the most in a 5 game series... that or maybe FL after burning Fernandez in the 1 game playoff. If Cole is on the shelf I prefer Pittsburgh. Giants vs Cubs could hold a big advantage if we just work their starting pitchers, stay patient & build the series off a battle of bullpens. Obviously all of this is all hypotheticals with pretty small variances in odds to win that series but hell we got nothing else to talk about at this point after owning the league all year.

14. Cubs fans are just petrified of the playoffs.. I guess sorta rightfully so with our history. (Granted as discussed before our lack of rings is mostly just for not being in the playoffs for an extended time). But, I've read posts of every NL playoff team from posters who are afraid of running into them in the playoffs. The only team I want to face in the playoffs is the Nationals because I know Dusty Baker will just [expletive] it up Eh, i'd rather face the least talented teams.. look at teams like the Royals that have gone deep back to back years and won a WS title while being Yosted.. and Dusty has went to a WS and went to an NLCS despite his preference for players to not clog the base paths.
15. I can only a take a team so seriously when Joe Blanton is one of their primary late/8th inning relievers who pitches in high leverage spots Cubs fans are just petrified of the playoffs.. I guess sorta rightfully so with our history. (Granted as discussed before our lack of rings is mostly just for not being in the playoffs for an extended time). 16. This is his primary job. Stories are fine, but long and rambling tales to nowhere are just bad. Scully has a classic voice but in this millennium he's been way past his prime, he would've been better off confined to radio or given a partner. That may be his primary job but I dont see him screwing up a ton like Harry in his later years. Im sure he's past his prime but he still seems pretty damn sharp to me. Len & JD are great but there is plenty of younger guys in the booth that not only mess up play calls, rules, player analysis but also do not have anything near as interesting to say as Scully. I'm 27 by the way.. so I'm not old guy yelling at cloud... yet...
17. I might be the only one here but I still love listening to Scully. Im sure hes lost some heat off the fastball but I find his stories genuinely interesting. I love him talk about the players of yesteryear & he finds new nuggets of info and stories that arent on the newswire.
18. Well the 05 White Sox faced real teams like the 05 Tigers who had improved from their 43 win season to become juggernauts at 71 wins... and there was the dominant 56 win Royals..
19. I remember sneaky being a big advocate that Alcantara would be better than Baez, but I don't remember Kyle writing anything like that for the front page. Pretty sure Sneaky still thinks Alcantara is better than Baez..
20. http://cdn.ebaumsworld.com/2016/08/21/122437/85111713/85105151.gif So Joe West is a Russell fan.
21. Hit 102 tonight and plenty of 100s and 101s. that's not what csn was showing I was watching CSN.
22. Throwin 102.. hit 103 a bunch vs Angels. I think hes fine. Hes not invincible... get some kinks out and dominate in the playoffs. he's been throwing 97-100 his last few times out Hit 102 tonight and plenty of 100s and 101s.
