  1. I hope the Cubs start using Chapman like the Indians use Miller. He is making it a 6 inning game.
  2. Idgaf. Hes also hinted at wanting to be a starter before & i bet he would rather throw 2 innings starting clean than bases loaded no outs where a WP or BB has him needing to only throw strikes. Plus his 2 inning quote was probably exagerrated & from when he was a Red playing in meaningless regular season games in empty ass Cinci for the Arm Crypt Keeper Dusty Baker. Nah, I'm pretty sure there was a quote from one of his first multi-inning games as a Cub that he preferred not doing it. I dont even remember a quote from him. I remember a reporter asking Maddon if he was aware Chapman supposedly preferred this & he admitted that he hadnt known that. I think he said he would talk with him. Even if he doesnt like it... you use this rented Mule as much as possible.
  3. Aroldis has been on record stating that he's not as comfortable with multi-inning saves.
  4. Pumped beyond belief but I want to reiterate I hope Theo is threatening Joe with driving his RV into the ocean if he keeps using Wood and Montgomery in anything past the 7th. Start using Chapman like the Indians use Miller. 2 fuckin innings everytime & start him in a clean or relatively clean inning. If its the 8th and one man gets on bring in motherfucking Aroldis. Aroldis nearly pulled us out of that... but Gonz put in a great AB on one mistake. Know whats really hard... stringing 3 straight hits together against Aroldis. Let CJ, Strop and Rondon dominate the 6th and 7th... and bring in the flame throwing goblin in the 8th and 9th & DOMINATE!
  5. Montgomery enticed a LH pinch hitter and then got him to hit a weak flare, and Chapman is the ideal guy to get K's when you desperately need them. Especially since Rondon didn't get used you can pull Chapman earlier if circumstances dictate too, but Chapman for 6 outs isn't really a problem. Except that Chapman for six outs with guys on base never works and Chapman himself hates it. Dammit Russell Cite your sources. Believe Chapman has only had a 2 inning save where he started the 8th once and he nailed it down.
  6. Sick of Maddon using Montgomery and Wood past the 7th inning. I dont give a horsefeathers if the Dodgers do have a bunch of lefties.
  7. Anybody got his defensive plays from today, especially the one that got overturned to safe?
  8. that was a really sweet thing he did there What did he say about Hendry?
  9. Im patting my own back. My greatest post of alltime!
  10. How many times have Cubs scored 3 in an inning this year.. a billion.. lets do this!!
  11. Benefit of Buck royally horsefeathering this up is I hope Theo and his mobsters are explaining they will fire 200 wins in two seasons Joe if he dares leave Chapman in the bullpen in any high leverage situation beyond the 5th. I want Aroldis pitching 2 innings a night every playoff game like the rented flame throwing mule he is.
  12. Nervous but pumped guys. My playoff prediction is the offense is hyper focused & gets super patient grindin at bats like the beginning of year & coupled with a lightsout bullpen carries us to a title.
  13. Hope it rivals Schmoltz vs Morris but goes even longer like 14 innings they both stay in for and Noah & Bum both end up on the DL but no ligament tears.
  14. I've gotta say, I'm pretty surprised to hear that you're choosing a Kanye concert over a Cubs playoff game David. Especially this Cubs team. kanye concerts happen every few years. there will be many playoff games. especially silly division series ones. made these plans and bought the tickets months ago and i'm not gonna bail on a group of 7 other people like some kind of weirdo because i have to watch a baseball game. Ill gladly hang with your friends at Wrigley if by some off chance they need a stand in..
  15. It's typically been 1-2 days after the registration closes if I recall correctly. Anyone want to team up, if they get selected you buy a seat for the other if they don't, and vice versa? I really really don't want to be shut out again this year Im your huckleberry. Did a bunch of dif emails this year too.
  16. 10-6 to get to 103 and 200 wins in two years is doable.
  17. I want the Cubs to win 103. It just seems to be a different tier above 100-102 and that would put us at 200 wins over the past two seasons. How many teams in the last year have done 200 in two seasons? Im sure the 116 win Mariners and the late 90s yankees but not sure about others?
  18. Hendricks Cy, KB MVP, and Cubs World Series Champs would just be the most perfect way to end the drought. 117 would have been nice, but 105 wins and taking the big 2 awards and the Championship would be just epic & honestly the Cubs, Fred, our fans, our parents & our grand & greatgrandparents deserve it!
  19. we'll never know, but so far, that move has netted them zero playoff series wins they probably wouldn't have won it with him either, and maybe then they wouldn't have gotten the 670 great innings he's given them since. debating in hindsight is pointless, though. Didnt they go 5 five games with the Cardinals in the divisional series? Strasburg could very easily put them past the Cards & in the NLCS. I feel like they could have spread his innings out, went to a 6 man rotation... something..
  20. I wish we could trade Montero for Aramis and PH him.. He is still probably a better bat then Miggy..
  21. Sure if you ignore all those wild pitches.... I'd say two were velocity induced and caught easily if 95 mph in same location.
  22. If our organization can look past the Chapman stuff Im sure they can squeeze the most value they can out of Tommy.. then maybe move on or decide about his future at another time. Sports are rarely black and white.. its all gray areas with factors of how good of a player you are. If this was Clayton Richard the Cubs probably would have released him with reasoning being an exact page, and rule number in the Cubs Way Book... but since Tommy is pretty solid to even good they probably conveyed their disappointment and decided to give him another chance.
