  1. Fair enough, but if La Stella is barely going to play (which we all know he might get an at bat or two if he's lucky), then they might as well take the guy who will fire up the team and the fans even more than they already are. Plus there's a better chance Schwarber does something significant than Seal boy. eh, I dont think LeStella is a quitter. I think he just didnt want to get sent down because he knew where we were headed. But in the end, he just isnt good enough He refused an assignment from his employer and went home to New Jersey. In my book, that's quitting.
  2. Well so long as the decision is being made for objective reasons Fair enough, but if La Stella is barely going to play (which we all know he might get an at bat or two if he's lucky), then they might as well take the guy who will fire up the team and the fans even more than they already are. Plus there's a better chance Schwarber does something significant than Seal boy.
  3. All the Cub beat writers I'm reading and hearing this morning seem to think this is happening. Phil Rodgers was just on MLB network and stopped short of confirming this, only saying it makes perfect sense. Schwarbs is from Ohio and in his limited time playing in Cleveland and Cincy he has great numbers playing in his home state in front of family and friends. He said essentially the Cubs aren't planning on keeping Rob Z on the roster so it comes down to Schwarbs or Seal Boy. Do we want a quitter or one of the most popular players in recent memory? Schwarbs wins by a landslide.
  4. Duke, I must say your posts as of late have been extremely positive, unwavering, and borderline fanatical. That being said you've been right on the money recently with your awesomeness. Keep up the good work! :hello:
  5. I think Theo, Jed, and Joe all want this to happen, but there's that little voice that says to them, "what if he re-injures himself?", which could sway it against. Their best LH DH proposition is Coglhan. I'd take my chances with Kyle over Chris and let it play out at least for the first two in Cleveland. Coglan would still make the roster for sure, so Kyle would take Rob Z's spot, whom didn't even throw a pitch in the NLCS. If Kyle struggles, you insert Soler or Coglhan in the DH. It's worth the gamble IMO.
  6. There's quite the "bench Heyward" montra flowing through the internet today. I hope Joe is thinking the same. For some reason I like the idea of Ross catching, Willy in LF, and Zobrist in RF. Ross is such a great leader and on this stage that could be crucial in keeping the boys focused. I suppose you could have Willy catch, Soler in RF/LF, or even start Almora, but Soler has shown nothing and Almora shouldn't start in such a big game. Just my two cents.
  7. He's out. Either way, great play by Javy.
  8. Here comes the K. Prove me wrong JH.
  9. Why is Heyward hitting here? Almora? Contreras? Soler?
  10. Get Contreras ready to PH for Heyward?
  11. The way Lester looked in the dugout, looks like a man ready pitch in the 7th. Let's score 5 runs so he doesn't have to.
  12. This. But depending on who is due up. If it's a lefty, leave him in.
  13. Lester you big stud. Leave him out there for 1 more inning Joe.
  14. Addy's HR was huge in two ways. Joe was seriously considering PH for Lester. I want Lester for at least two more innings.
  15. Maeda is going to have a SHORT lease...
  16. Could the eventual MVP of the NLCS be Matt Szczur's bat?
  17. Listening to that Addy HR it sounded like they were at Wrigley. Cub fans making some noise in LA.
  18. Do they even have to declare him anything per MLB rules? I don't think it's too serious, plus if they decide to replace him on the roster, he wouldn't be elligible for the next series as well. Basically it's going to have to be something pretty serious for them to even consider replacing him.
