Would you really call that "swinging"? Well.... the 3rd base umpire did..... what should I do ?? I was referring to the patheticness of Neifi.
well, with walker starting at second, we needed to get one of their awesome bats in... wait, awesome? I mean awful. They remind me of that mole game. Pop one down and the other pops up. It would be neat if we lost Aram. Neifi would be our everyday 3rd baseman. Womack at 2b, Pierre in CF and Blanco behind the plate during Barretts suspension. Print the playoff tickets NOW!
That's how I see it too. The only thing is, if I buy a car and turns out to be a lemon I will do whatever I can to get rid of it and get something more reliable. The Cubs just try to make lemonade. That's what they're going to have to do: hope some team needs a lefty and will pick up most, if not all of the contract. I'll give Hendry a big pat on the back if he finds another team to take Rusch and pay any of his contract.

Well yeah, but....nevermind. I suppose we'll need him for the stretch run in August and September. You know, the one where we'll be trying to win 5th place ahead of the mighty Pirates.
There are 3 constants with the Cubs: 1. The Trib isn't selling them. 2. MacPhail, Hendry, and Baker are here for the long term. 3. Winning the World Series is a fantasy that isn't going to happen as long 1 & 2 applies.
It depends on your definition of "possibly". With the right deal, we are possibly trading for ARod and Tejada and Abreu and Cabrera. That said, I seriously doubt that happens. Carlos Lee is more likely. He is overrated, we will overpay, and he will suck when he gets here. Carlos Lee has Cubs written all over him. I can see the Cubs giving up Murton and prospects to get him this year and lock him up long term. Then of course he'll start to decline and get hurt every other month Why would they trade for him when he is a FA at the end of the year?
Yep, and I'm not sure that a payroll boost would even be necessary. It just needs to be spent better (obviously). Indeed. Someone that is halfway competent could actually cut the Cubs payroll by 25% and improve this roster.
I think Hendry should trade Prior, Wood, and Maddux and force Dusty to use Z, Marshall, Guzman, Marmol, and Hill. If nothing else Dusty would lose his mind and decide not to return. \:D/ (for the humor impaired: just kidding)
