  1. Tigers grab Kyle Finnegan, he was mentioned with the Cubs a few times.
  2. I'm not trading Horton and the reason for that is simple. Look at his numbers even with this weird inability to get guys to swing and miss with 2 strikes when it's not an issue getting swing and miss for strike 1 or strike 2. Once he gets that ironed out, I think he's going to be real good.
  3. Well yeah, I'd put every cent I own on Shaw never touching 40HRs and a huge amount on never touching .900 OPS too, but he doesn't have to. He's vastly better defensively. He's vastly better on the bases. All Shaw has to do is be like a 115-120 wRC+ guy and he matches Suarez's career year. even as a league average bat he's probably a 3 fWAR player.
  4. I can't see how that would be even remotely feasible given there is no one to play 3B besides Shaw.
  5. I'd be shocked if there wasn't another big prospect in that ask.
  6. Steven Kwan is though. The Padres just need someone to give Cleveland prospects for Kwan, then deal Kwan to them for Cease and/or Suarez. I could totally see this Cubs trade Alcantara+Triantos for Kwan Cubs trade Kwan+Amaya to San Diego San Diego Trades Cease+Suarez to the Cubs
  7. I'd deal Long+Triantos for Cease. Not 100% it gets it done, but I'd pull the trigger on that.
  8. I'm not sure where you even got this idea.
  9. That is going to be pricy, but I'd be willing to bet this price is partially offset by a Cease deal in a few hours.
  10. Willi Castro is, and has been, the obvious choice
  11. Unlike those two, his peripherals don't suck. Still, I'm not sure he's worth the 9M.
  12. We might not find out tonight since apparently the trade wasn't supposed to be announced until tomorrow.
  13. I would be quite unhappy with that. I still think Brown is a mid rotation arm with some tweaks.
  14. I mean it makes sense. At this point for 2026 he's behind all of Steele, Shota, Boyd, Taillon, Horton, Brown and Assad. If they get a controllable pitcher here he's 9th on the depth chart.
  15. Value wise it's reasonable but man I feel like that has the potential to be bad
  16. It's 9M and he'll be 36, it's not adding much if any value.
  17. I'd think Long more than Alcantara
  18. Yeah that was not what I was seeing, but that's honestly not a bad return for a rental bat. It was never realistic that he'd bring a top 50 guy.
  19. Gotta be one of Gallagher, Birdsell or Sanders
  20. Ok I need something official because if it's the package some people are running with then thank you Jed for saying hell no
  21. If Sloan was one of the two pitchers, that's a pretty big get for a rental.
  22. Don't mind this, wasn't the bat I wanted anyway.
  23. If he's headed to the pen and he's anything like he was in 2024, the price was low.
