  1. I know it's not going to happen, but part of me really wants Rodon to completely stiff the White Sox.
  2. Jon Singleton not exactly lighting the world on fire either.
  3. If I'm Aiken I take it. Sure it's not 6.5M, but that isn't a huge discount for a guy whose future looks to be bound for Tommy John.
  4. Between this new Aiken situation and the well documented and terrifying risks that Rodon carries, I'm game for just ignoring pitching in the 1st round on a permanent basis unless Strasburg/Price is available. Should be fun to watch the Cub Facebook fans freakout when Theoyer takes another bat in the top 5 next year.
  5. I'm not sure what to make of Jimmy Nelson. His numbers are amazing, especially for the PCL, but he's also already 25 which makes me wonder why the Brewers didn't bring him up long ago.
  6. Those same Oriole fans telling me that either Gausman or Bundy was a better return than Russel. The same Oriole fans that assured me a package starting with Eduardo Rodriguez would get a Samardzija deal done.
  7. I can wait an extra three weeks to keep him an extra year.
  8. I appreciate their votes, but I'm still not voting for Porcello over Chris Sale.
  9. I don't even see anyone particularly note worthy playing today in those lineups.
  10. I choose to believe this FO is smart enough where they wouldn't even consider disciplining Len for going after meatballs. If anything he should be applauded for it.
  11. Add Jimmy Nelson for Baez, because Baez's stock is plummeting.
  12. Sometimes I wonder if Bryant was a putting up a sub 20% K rate rather than an elite prospect, would we be talking about him like a generational talent?
  13. Love Stanton and I'd love to have him, but the packages are a bit over the top. When you're saying Baez+Alcantara+Almora+CJ for him that's a top 10,20,50 and 60 prospect. To the best of my knowledge, there is no trade in the history of baseball where that much prospect talent has been moved.
  14. Add that to the following I've heard today Alcantara for Piscotty Castro for Marco Gonzales and Siegfried Castro for Syndergaard etc etc. Apparently because the Cubs have lots of prospects the rest of MLB fandom believes Theo is giving them away for .50 cents on the dollar.
  15. Maybe I'm feeling negative after the Blackhawks whiffed on Kessler and the Bulls are looking like they whiffed on Melo, but I'm starting to think that Jeff isn't going anywhere this season. There is a decent chance that there is going to be a lot of good pitching out there. Price,Lester,Peavey,Lackey,Hammel,Hamels,Lee etc. Anywhere near that type of market saturation and you can kiss the chances at finding a trade worthy package good bye.
  16. On Baseball Tonight, Jayson Stark was just saying he's heard the asking price on Samardzija is a 4 for 1 where 3 of them are likely to be the top 3 prospects on most farms.
  17. I see no problem in not trusting Shields. Let's be honest, he has been absolutely awful since the start of May this year. 76 2/3IP 100H 51K 1.53WHIP. Something is clearly not right.
  18. So Keith Law, can I be excited about Schwarber yet?
  19. Really not pleased that Samardzija came back out after an hour long lay off. Of course first pitch he throws is a HR.
  20. I hate the division rival a lot more than I hate the team who has nothing to do with the success of the Chicago Cubs.
  21. For novelty sake I still want to see Ichiro pitch at some point and bat in the HR derby. Didn't he say a few years back that he could hit 40HR a year if he wanted but he'd only hit .220 so he'd rather play the way he did?
  22. As of now, I like the 2015 class the most of any class since the loaded 2011 Javy Baez class. Excellent college arms, really nice prep hitters, etc. Granted things can change quickly. In 2013 I thought that 2014 class was going to be leaps and bounds better than 2013 but it ended up being very disappointing.
  23. The BABIP doesn't bother me. Guys like Trout, McCutchen and Puig are going to have high BABIPs due to their skillset. Nobody maintains a .370 babip with that LD% unless they have speed that puts Billy Hamilton to shame.
  24. The Cardinal fans make me hate Molina. He gets treated like he's god's gift to baseball. When Yadier retires, the entire city of St. Louis is going to be flooded with the tears of grown men.
  25. That math doesn't work out though. They should be on pace for 559 runs. No idea how i butchered that so badly and I even double checked. Next time I wont bother with the math while half asleep.
