  1. Happy to hear it. There are so many better ways to spend a 100M than this price inflated lottery ticket.
  2. I want absolutely nothing to do with him given his rumored price tag. If he's available for 60 or 70M sure , but this 100M contract for a guy who wasn't even great in Cuba has disaster written all over it.
  3. Yeah, i'd take that team in a heartbeat. Not overly unrealistic, though I agree with the assessment of the Span trade and I still think Tampa trades Hellickson or Moore before Cobb. If they're willing to move Moore, the Cubs should be on that immediately. Moore hasn't even come close to tapping his potential and he's still been a solid pitcher. Hellickson, on the other hand, I want nothing to do with.
  4. With Laroche's 2015 mutual option, wouldn't they kind of have to move Span? Rendon sticks at 3B, Zimmerman to LF, Jasyson Werth RF and Harper in CF. As far as package goes, what if Amaya is replaced by say Vizcaino. He could immediately step into their bullpen.
  5. Lester 6/130, 7th year option with 5M buyout Andrew Miller 3/18 Trade Mckinney+Amaya for Denard Span Trade Alcantara+CJ+Vogelbach for Alex Cobb(TB still has Archer,Smyly,Odorizzi,Hellickson,Moore,Karns) 1.Span(L)RF 2.Castro®SS 3.Soler®RF 4.Rizzo(L)1B 5.Bryant®LF 6.Baez®2B 7.Valbuena(L)3B 8.Castillo®C SP:Lester(L),Arrieta®,Cobb®,Hendricks®,Dubrount/Wood(L) RP:Rodon,Ramirez,Strop,Miller,Grimm,Rosscup,Rivero
  6. Watch them call that a pick.
  7. The Bears have now forced the opposing team to punt a grand total of 3 times in the last two games, with Green Bay yet to punt today. Unbelievably bad.
  8. If Mel Tucker is with this team past week 8 then Trestman needs to go with him.
  9. I give up. It's exactly like watching the [expletive] Cardinals. Some how some way a ball is going to bounce their way every single game.
  10. Are you really going to celebrate that they only gave up 3 points?
  11. NFL makes billions and billions of dollars but god forbid they spend 1/100,000 of that on cameras so they can actually get all angles on replays. Might as well just have refs holding up their flip phones at the goal lines.
  12. Hate that onside kick this close to half. Short field for GB and they're going to get the ball right back after half.
  13. The worst part is that if Sandberg gets fired the city is going to be in an uproar to hire him again.
  14. Could he be the PTBL? I really doubt it. If the deal was agreed upon in the offseason. The Marlins surely wouldn't want the Cubs playing Schwarber all summer until he was eligible to be traded and I've never heard of a player having to sit out half of the summer due to a trade other than the Ubaldo deal for Pomeranz.
  15. Bryant is potentially too good to trade. I don't see any scenario the Cubs trade him. Baez seems most likely based on him not being handpicked by this front office. Russell doesn't have as much time invested in him by this FO. Soler may be the most attractive to Miami for nationality reasons. Definitely have to include one of those 3. I'd imagine having a big time star at SS would be most ideal. It's really just preference for me. I personally like Russell and Soler slightly more than Bryant. It's not that I dislike Bryant, but now and then I question how well things are going to translate once he gets promoted and to be honest I'm pretty nervous.
  16. If a deal can get done involving only 1 of the Soler/Baez/Bryant/Russell I'm game. Although, Baez would be the only headliner where I'd even consider using Alcantara as a secondary piece. The rest would have to come with a lesser 2nd piece.
  17. What in addition Alcantara would it take to land Leonys Martin and Derek Holland? I'd be absolutely great about a rotation like Lester/Arrieta/Holland/Hendricks/whoever.
  18. If you can land Cobb for Almora and Hendricks, please do it immediately.
  19. I wouldn't mind moving Edwin for McCann provided McCann keeps his mouth shut. Gary Sanchez should be ready in the not to distant future and the Yankees are going to have to fill 2 if not 3 rotation slots.
  20. Was my thinking too. He's not coming cheap this offseason. Eh, with the minimal financial commitments the Cubs have heading into the offseason, he shouldn't be pitching himself out of their price range. His performance of late just makes me more excited about the possibility of a Lester-Arrieta-McCarthy-Hendricks-Wada/Straily/Doubront/Turner rotation. he's certainly pricing himself out of getting both him and lester Really? How much do you expect he'll get? Before this Yankee run, 1/10 or 2/18 would have been my guess. If he continues tearing it up the rest of the year I think you're looking at least at a Feldman contract, 3/30, if not 3/36 to 4/48.
  21. While Michael Conforto, who Law is in love with, sits in short season A ball with an .831OPS.
  22. I could be convinced to put him in the last couple slots of the top 20.
  23. I believe so. He also had Javy at #7 if I remember right. He acknowledges they're good, but still manages to put loads of negative spin on any positives.
  24. Keith Law hates all things Cubs other than Addison Russell. Even when he gives compliments it's sandwiched by two reasons they still might suck.
  25. I'm not convinced I'd rather have Cease than Gilliam. Not signing Gilliam was my biggest regret from this last draft. I would have easily given up one of Cease/Steele/Sands for him.
