  1. With every passing day I think more and more that trading Baez is going to be a disaster. His swing right now is so much likely to produce results. Even without the leg kick he destroyed both of those balls last night.
  2. Perhaps, maybe just perhaps, the Cubs should use Wada who has proven to be a solid 5th starter in his roughly half season of starts.
  3. I'm expecting perhaps a non closer reliever and Will Venable type move. So, not literally nothing, but pretty close.
  4. That's a delightful knee-jerk reaction. Not really. The Cubs don't match up on Hamels and Price isn't on the market. They have said they aren't interested in rentals i.e Samardzija,Kennedy etc. Various reports say they're not in on Shields. The only person they're even being tied to is Tyson Ross.
  5. I'm curious to know what the reaction will be around here if the Cubs do absolutely nothing. I'm starting to think that's the most likely scenario.
  6. I can't believe they got Manea for 3 months of Zobrist, craziness.
  7. Well, time to get used to scoring 3 runs a game the rest of the year.
  8. Ross, but look what has happened to Garza since his breakout season where he went breaking ball crazy. When he's not injured, he's simply terrible.
  9. I think you're gonna need 2 of Torres/McKinney/Zagunis in any deal for Ross and then probably also include 1 or 2 of the pitchers (Underwood/CJ/PJ/Tseng, etc) I don't see how you can justify that kind of package an arm that throws sliders 46.2% of the time. There's just too much risk involved.
  10. DeLeon is like a top 30 prospect in the game at this point. Verdugo is highly regarded and Jharel Cotton is about to explode up prospect boards. After that you have decent guys like Chris Anderson and Darnell Sweeney who may be interesting 3rd or 4th pieces.
  11. If they can't score on the Rockies then it's time to pretend it's October and just focus on football.
  12. Finnegan was well thought of coming into the season. Feels like Lamb has been around forever. Arm injuries, but supposedly his velocity and stuff is back.
  13. If they're not going to bother doing something about this offense then they should at very least see what the market for Coghlan,Fowler and maybe Hammel is.
  14. Cubs can't score runs so let's leave Schwarber on the bench yet again. Brilliant.
  15. A guy who works for BA and frequents OH, is claiming the Dodgers have a done deal for a pitcher and the announcement is coming in the next 24 hours. No details beyond that. I can't imagine it would be Price already.
  16. Congrats Cubs, you basically had to try and lose this game and you managed to pull it out.
  17. Tillman isn't good and has not been good. He gets completely carried by Baltimore's elite defense. 4.25,4.42,4.01 and 4.13FIPs the last 4 years.
  18. Oh please let the Mets do something dumb like give up Molina and Fulmer.
  19. rizzo has been in a horrid slump since the all star break Soler against Giles' slider is about as sure of a strike out as there is.
  20. Not sure why they're pitching to Rizzo in the first place.
  21. There is not a single person on this entire team who can bunt.
  22. There is no reason whatsoever for Schwarber not to start tomorrow. This team can't score and you have the answer sitting on your bench.
  23. Sure would be nice if we had a closer who actually struck people out right now.
