  1. I think it's exciting that only one Cub bat is performing above expectations(Rizzo). There is significant room for improvement int he 2nd half.
  2. A competitive baseball team and Hot Doug's. I need a tissue.
  3. Why can't we just have low stress finishes?
  4. No no no, you do nto let James Russell go for the save I don't care about lefty match ups.
  5. Nah, they really should trade some of them. In a deal where the value is there yes, but Hamels isn't one of those deals. You're so far up your own ass with this idea of value, you just can't understand that making a trade isn't always about value, sometimes it's about filling a need. The need is scoring runs, giving up middle of the order type bats doesn't do that.
  6. Terrible idea to run, but what a slide.
  7. Bryant continues his decent to sub .800OPS
  8. Yeah, I'm done with this. It's going to take some miracle like a Mike Baxter HR to score.
  9. I still think with the embarrassment of riches that is the Indian rotation, they'd be willing to move Salazar. If you threw Baez and Zagunis at them with the black hole they have at 3B and a capable starter in Zach McAllister able to replace Salazar, they might pull the trigger.
  10. Nah, they really should trade some of them. In a deal where the value is there yes, but Hamels isn't one of those deals.
  11. You're kidding yourself if you think they're going to pay lester,Samardzija and Hamels. Just the same as people who want Hamels and then Price/Zimmerman/Cueto. Theoyer isn't going to dedicate 400+M to 30+ year old pitchers.
  12. Yup, that's how you fix a team that's slumping offensively. Throw that sub .500 OPS utility infielder in there so half of your line up is an automatic out. Rizzo and Bryant better hit or they aren't going to score.
  13. Holy [expletive] I can't wait until some other team trades for Hamels. The packages keep getting more ridiculous for a 31 year old who is being paid pretty much FA prices, with the big benefit being he's only signed for a few more years. I'm not interested in giving the Phillies Baez, let alone Schwarber. I'll take Samardzija on a 5/100 deal in FA and keep all my prospects, thank you.
  14. 23rd in runs scored and 7th for runs allowed. For the love of god go get a bat.
  15. Please god Theoyer get us a bat and screw getting another pitcher until the offseason.
  16. If this is the limit of what the Cubs could land then they were better off waiting until 2016. Extremely disappointing.
  17. I feel like we could get the same performance out of Junior Lake.
  18. He's injured far too often to make up for the fact that he's a decent pitcher.
  19. Of [expletive] course he does. Pixie dust horse [expletive].
  20. @101 pitches, do you bring him out for the 8th knowing he's coming off that CGSHO with 120+ thrown?
  21. The time is now, go out and grab AJ Pollock while eating Aaron Hill's contract.
