  1. they are so far ahead of us in the rebuilding process that they are starting the next rebuild already Houston has a lot more left on the farm than we do. Martes should be a top 25 arm by mid year, Bregman is destroying AA, Reed is starting to recover from a slow start, but unquestionably remains the best 1B prospect in the minors. They'll have their choices of Michael Feliz, Francis Martes and Joe Musgrove for the rotation next year. 2017 and going forward they'll be a vastly improved team.
  2. Isn't Smith out for the year? If it was full year I completely missed that, I was under the impression it was ASB at latest.
  3. Even more than another starter I want a dominating lefty reliever. I'd love to take McGee from COL or Will Smith from MIL.
  4. Are we really going to get every Harper AB all year interrupting the games?
  5. Seriously, he was like 5 feet from 3b before he finally threw the damn ball.
  6. Bettis is actually pretty decent(3.85FIP,3.89xFIP), which is why I expect this to be the only game of the series the Cubs don't put up 7 or more.
  7. I don't think there's much question that Candelario can handle third base in the big leagues. It's part of why I have him ranked so highly. I didn't realize the opinion of his defense had risen so drastically. It feels like this time last year he was a guy who would be tolerable if he could rake.
  8. 1. Willson Contreras-Nearly MLB ready and continued to rake in the fall league. 2. Gleyber Torres- Would like to see more power with that strike out rate, but he's done very well while aggressively pushed. 3.Eloy Jiminez- Shows a patient approach rare for a young power hitter. This is the year he starts to get noticed as a top prospect. He and Jomar Reyes explode on the scene and show they're just as talented as Rafael Devers. 4. Dylan Cease- 2 plus pitches, with a third that is underused but has the making of an average offering along with plus plus velocity. The ceiling is high on this one. 5. Ian Happ- The power, the patience and the speed are nice, the K% is not, especially for a college bat. If he can stick at 2B he probably deserves to be higher, but I'm doubting it. 6.Albert Almora- Great second half and impressive D in spring training. He's not terribly exciting but I think he's a good bet to bring 2-3fWAR seasons. 7.Billy McKinney- He has done nothing but rake, unfortunately he plays a position where he needs to rake even harder. He's going to have a long mlb career, but if he can muster 15-20HR power will determine whether it's as a 4th OFer or a starter. 8.Oscar De La Cruz- Impressive last year and intriguing this year if it's true that he's added a few ticks to his fastball making him a 94-95mph guy. 9.Jeimer Candelario- The bat is a lot more impressive than I thought, but when he's likely to end up in corner outfield spot or 1B it needed to be. If by chance he sticks at 3B, he'd be much higher on the list. 10.Duane Underwood- Still barely hanging onto the top 10. How can he feature 2 plus pitchers with plus velocity and miss so few bats? For me this is the make or break year for him.
  9. Pittsburgh is going to be really scary when Taillon and Glasnow get promoted.
  10. Maybe I'm wrong, but Jake's delivery looks more over the top than it was last year. Less movement.
  11. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25520355/report-white-sox-nearly-boycotted-game-over-adam-laroche-situation Looks like Kenny pissed off a lot of players including Chris Sale who requested in not as polite terms that Kenny stay out of the clubhouse.
  12. These guys go 3 weeks at a time without seeing their families, I fail to see how the kid being in the club house is hurting anyone. Not to mention a 14 year old now knows that the White Sox didn't want himn around and his Dad left baseball because of it. I get that and I certainly don't see an issue allowing his kid around a lot of the time, but by the sounds of it he was there all the time. I get why other players, coaches or FO guys may want to have some times with no kids around. The logical conclusion of this seems to be somewhere in the middle of what LaRoche was doing and what the White Sox requested. They didn't say they were putting a complete ban on him being around, just to not do it 100% of the time. It's not like he's the little kid from a League of Their Own, at 14 I'm sure he's at least reasonably sane around adults.

  14. OH literally has a 90 page thread where the same 3 things are said over and over. Dexter is a liar and used the Orioles, Theo is scum for poaching Dexter and Close is a liar both in regards to the trade and the statement he issued. There's also a good number of wishing ill on Fowler physically and financial as well as Cub hating.
  15. Pedro Alvarez is also a good fit there. AJ Reed should be up by July and that kid can absolutely rake.
  16. I know it's actually the 28th pick, but what are the Sox thinking? They are making moves like a contender, but don't upgrade the OF or team OBP or really defense. Shockingly Fowler would be a rather large upgrade for the Sox for what appears to be a very manageable contract. How are they not making this move? The majority over on WSI seem to be in agreement with their FO. It's baffling to refuse to give up the 28th pick for a 3fWAR upgrade at one position when you're in a division as tight as that one.
  17. Hopefully he fairs a bit better than our last tool shed(Junior Lake), wherever he may be.
  18. I can't believe the White Sox aren't all over Fowler. They got .1fWAR out of RF last year and he'd give them an instant 2.5 to 3fWAR upgrade. For 3/30 that's that's an incredible deal.
  19. Here's the full list. http://www.turnerpublishing.com/files/uploads/BP-101Prospects.pdf
  20. Well this sucks on two levels. I wanted McGee for the Cubs and I'm sure Honeywell is likely going to COL which makes him useless in my dynasty league.
  21. I'm not all that interested in Lazarito. I'd much rather take Morejon and Ruiz and the money would likely be even.
  22. Well we may not be the favorites to land Morejon anymore which is really disappointing. It looks like he might wait until next period to sign. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/adrian-morejon-highlight-video/
  23. So the Orioles are bringing back the same 81 win team as last year minus Chen and plus a whole lot of payroll and minus any semblance of a farm. Sounds like a great winning strategy.
  24. Going to be hard to get motivated and learn all the names when the Cubs may even end picking until the second round.
