  1. i don't know about "just as" capable right now, but definitely very capable...and then they have to shut down our offense, not one of these. For reference, Arrieta faced both teams twice: Mets 7 IP, 1 ER 5.1 IP, 4 ER Giants 6 IP, 2 ER 7 IP, 1 ER Exactly, I think people underestimate how miserable the Giants offense has been this second half. The same could be said for the Mets but some how Asdrubal Cabrera has become a 1.000 OPS guy over the last month plus.
  2. Why didn't Loney just stay at 1B?
  3. As much as I dislike Bumgarner, the fact that he has stayed with the woman he was with before he exploded into being worth 100M+ is one of his few redeeming qualities.
  4. He knows he's most likely not going to be playing for Baltimore next year. They're losing Wieters and Trumbo and they don't have any money left nor do they have any talent in the minors that's near MLB ready other Sisco. So Baltimore either tries to compete again with a worse team than last year and uses what little talent they have in the farm to improve or they deal Britton who still has 2 years of team control left, but is going to cost 8-10M in arb in 2017. Personally I think they need to trade Jones,Britton and Machado, because there's no way they're going to give Manny the absurd contract he's going to get in 2019
  5. Your best pitcher doesn't throw a single pitch in a single elimination game. That's a fireable offense, I don't care what you did in the past.
  6. Buck is going to get destroyed for this.
  7. They interviewed him before the game and said he was good to go 2+ I don't get it. Ubaldo is effectively their #2 right now so they'd rather use their game 1 starter than use Britton without a lead?
  8. Ubaldo now in the game, Britton still on the bench. Britton has to be hurt right?
  9. Call me biased, and I know it's only one game, but I feel like the Cubs are significantly better than both of these squads. I'm very underwhelmed by both squads ability to work the count.
  10. Every time they get anyone on base it's a guaranteed double play.
  11. A single sends you home and still no Britton.
  12. Why in god's name is Britton not in this game? You're one batter from going home.
  13. Buck had better not make the mistake of giving up the lead before using the league's most dominant reliever.
  14. Watch Baltimore come out and rally now that they're pissed off following the water bottle incident. edit: Make that beer can.
  15. With the way SF struggles against lefties and with how hot Lester is coming into the postseason I think it's a no brainer. It also sets him up for either a 2nd start in the NLDS or possibly game 1 against the Dodgers, should they get past the Nats, who are also terrible against lefties.
  16. What in the hell is Saunders doing not scoring? You advance one base on a double?
  17. Definitely rooting for the Jays. Baltimore fans are really bad in general. They think everyone is out to get them all the time. Then there's lll the name calling and what not after the Cubs got Fowler instead of them, the extremely classy responses about karma when Schwarber got hurt. Combine that with an argument I had a few days ago from a Baltimore fan who said the Cubs are a sub 95 maybe even 90 win team in the AL East and I'm ready for that that one trick pony of a team to be done.
  18. Very underwhelmed by Tillman's stuff, despite the results so far.
  19. What? Why are you bitching at MLB for giving away a free look? Didn't know it was a freebie until about an hour after this post.
  20. This is the first time I've ever had a Cub game I couldn't watch and of course it's playoff game. Nice cash grab MLB.
  21. The bottom of the strike zone just doesn't exist.
  22. Really hope Rizzo and Bryant start to warm up a bit, can't afford to head into the playoffs with them both slumping.
  23. Lester wins #19 to go along with a 2.33ERA. If not for his disaster start against the Mets where he went 1 1/3IP and gave up 8ER, he'd be your run away CY winner with a 1.93ERA.
  24. Chapman has the Hammel's; opening up his shoulder and missing high and away consistently.
