  1. Maybe I'm wrong, but did anyone else expect more HRs this year? Just looking at the numbers and the Cubs are tied for 13th with 144. I never would have bet the Mets,Rays and Cardinals would all be ahead of us.
  2. This was my exact first thought. I'll deal with the douchebag as long as Joe Smith never throws another pitch for the Cubs.
  3. Joe Smith has no business being on this roster come tomorrow. horsefeathering awful.
  4. How a person who throws a ball professionally cannot throw a strike 1 in 8 chances is just completely beyond me.
  5. I thought I saw somewhere that we are like 4th or 5th in HRs in the NL.. That was surprising considering we have 2 guys in the race for most NL HR's and seems like we are deep in HR hitters too. I think we have 5 over ten already? Which is pretty solid in this run environment. As far as HRs go, we've actually been a bit disappointing outside of Kris,Rizzo and Ross. Which is why I'm so optimistic about what the offense could become. There's still so much more room for improvement with Soler, Russell,Javy,Contreras, etc. Most likely none of them touch 20HR. In a couple seasons I think they'll all do it on a regular basis.
  6. Here we go, a Cardinal pinch hitter who automatically becomes Barry Bonds.
  7. Come on Contreras, really blow this one open.
  8. I want to see Wainwright throw at Soler but at the same time I don't want Soler suspended for the rest of the season after he turns Adam into a puddle of goo.
  9. Over under on BFIB death threats directed towards the umpire already? 10? 20?
  10. Time to improve on those clutch numbers Kris.
  11. Whatever happens here, Soler has been real impressive working counts since the call up.
  12. .607 with bases loaded, and I'm not even surprised.
  13. and Montgomery has turned back into a pumpkin after one successful inning.
  14. Your posts are a never ending flow of stupidity. We are up 12 games and while I get it's the cardinals I don't really have many emotions watching this. It's like glorified spring training. I don't understand getting sooo angry It's not about tonight, it's about getting Heyward fixed so he's usable in the playoffs. As things stand right now, I don't know that I'd even let him play. As good as his defense is, it doesn't overcome a .600OPS out of a corner outfield spot.
