  1. And? It's not like the Cubs needed to get under the cap to reset penalties, nor will they likely go over next year.
  2. Yup, definitely couldn't have afforded what is essentially a one year deal for a front of the rotation pitcher this team likely needs.
  3. I'm kind of hopping Poles trades Herbert. I wonder if a 5th is doable.
  4. With trading 1.9 almost a certainty as this point, I wonder if #9 and #122 to Cincinnati for #18, #49 and #80 makes sense. They need a WR, especially with Higgins wanting out. They could snag Odunze a #9. The Bears could go either Brian Thomas+Bralen Trice+Sedrick Van Pran on that or maybe Latu+Xavier Leggette+Van Pran. They'd still have pick #75 too.
  5. I'm just getting ready for the inevitable Big 10 NCAA tourney stuff. Michigan St the lone representative in the sweet despite that they arguably shouldn't even be in the tournament. Everyone else underperforms or gets into severe foul trouble.
  6. In fact they were the lowest rated 2 seed according to the committee.
  7. Illinois was the lowest rated 3 seed.....
  8. Purdue got a really easy bracket
  9. Whisky got hosed. Very strong 12 seed and then, if they win, they get Duke
  10. Illinois gets an easy road to sweet 16, but they have the strongest #1 and #2.
  11. Watch the committee completely screw Illinois and make them a 4 seed
  12. I suspected they may have taken lesser return to do Justin a favor. It's a good look, but I'm still not thrilled if they gave up a 4th just to make Justin happy.
  13. Who has said his quick decision making is bad? His short passing game is very good. The issue is sometimes he prefers to hold the ball and move around in the pocket to let his wide receivers get down field instead of simply taking the short pass.
  14. Who said he's a hero? Let's face it, most of the players we like from the present and the past are jackasses and horsefeatherss. Short of committing a horrendous crime like Wander Franco, or being in the nearly unprecedented tier of horsefeatherss like Schilling/Huff, no one should be blackballed from their organization.
  15. I still have no idea why it's a negative that he broke down in tears after that game. If anything I love that he cares so much that losing caused that kind of response.
  16. Yeah, I'd more or less agree with this. Really the only issues they share is that they both try to play hero ball and it leads to turnovers. If Caleb learns to take what the defense gives and throw the ball away when there isn't anything there, he's going to be a vastly better player. I still believe that Fields has nearly unprecedented tools and therefore ceiling, but Williams is the much more likely of the 2 to be an above average or better QB.
  17. Probably right since they lost the head to head vs Marquette and Arizona and I doubt Tennessee's loss moves them down far enough. Also Iowa State just took out Houston so they might even sneak into a 1 now.
  18. Horton has that kind of upside.
  19. While I didn't expect a 3rd or anything, I'm baffled as to why Pickett netted what he did and Justin only brings back a 6th with potential to be a 4th. I mean Pickett super sucks at least as much as Fields.
  20. With their 3 seed more or less locked, I wonder if they have a shot at a 2 if they beat wisky tomorrow.
  21. For a 6th they should have just made him the back up. A 6th is damn near just cutting him.
  22. That is an embarrassing as hell return.
  23. He used amphetamines aka "Greenies" as did many players of his era.
  24. No one should condone Sammy cheating, but lets not pretend just about the entire league was doing the same thing at that time. Even beloved HoF legends like Hank Aaron cheated, but I don't see anyone trying to run him out of town. Sammy messed up, he knows he messed up and apologized. it's not like he's a monster like Wander Franco. Meanwhile players like Frank Thomas and Jeff Bagwell sit in the hall of fame despite playing in the same steroid driven era because people have for some reason decided that they didn't take steroids.
  25. After yesterday's games, Illinois probably locks a 3 seed with a win today. #5 Tennessee, #6 Arizona, #8 Creighton, #9 Kentucky and #11 Duke all went down early in their conference tournaments.
