  1. Highest ranked guys still undrafted #56 Dax Whitney #76 Garret Schull #79 Carson Wiggins #80 Chase Mobley #91 Sawyer Farr #92 Noah Franco
  2. Not that the rankings are the end all be all, but as of now. The Dodgers are the only team with only 1 guy drafted in the top 100, the Cubs are tied with numerous others for 2nd fewest with 2.
  3. He's a JR though, so it's not like the usual college SR where you can just say here's 10k, sign the contract.
  4. With that said, it sounds like the only reason Ty isn't much more highly regarded is that he's small.
  5. He's a prep guy so I can't even imagine the savings would be all that substantial. Why take this huge risk?
  6. Not that I think they'll spend to do it, but I think if you add Jansen/Bregman to that line up it becomes a super deep 90+ win lineup. No elite mega mashers, but that's like half a dozen guys who will finish in the 115-130 wRC+ range and 3 others that will hover around 100.
  7. Honestly the best option in FA, if you can deal with having a full time DH and have come to terms with no Soto, is probably JD Martinez. 135 wRC+ last year, 133 this year. In FA at 3B/C your best bat is Bregman who is coming off a 125 wRC+ and is sitting at a 107 wRC+ this year.
  8. Joey Oakie is the name that sticks out to me, but again, where is the money going to come from?
  9. As I said, he's probably not a starter because of the control issues, but the stuff absolutely plays where he could be a high leverage reliever right now. I also think you could go out and get a guy like Kikuchi for money similar to the 2/36 left on Taillon's contract this offseason.
  10. I have no issues selling Taillon, I'm just not selling him for farm filler, especially when eating money. If Baltimore wants to send back Chayce McDermott then we talk. He's probably not going to remain a starter, but he should be a very good pen arm. If Baltimore wants the Cubs to eat a chunk then it probably has to be Cade Povich.
  11. I'm expecting slot for Cam Smith and maybe a few hundred K savings on Mathis, if that. So there's really not enough money to do anything particularly crazy at this point. I would expect primarily arms from here on out though.
